Stephen Neal? He's an UFA and I think he's pretty good. I prefer him over Ashworth.

We need a tackle, not a guard.

Great, but why pursue a middle of the road guy like Ashworth. Heck, we have that already. In fact, I think Alabi is more athletic and has a better upside.

Alabi may very well figure into the lineup this year but MacIntosh is gone and McDougle needs to be. We need some experience at tackle.

With our cap situation, it makes sense tp go after mid-level players. I'm sure Saban feels like Ashworth can only improve under HH.

WHATEVER..Ashworth has been there a part of their Super Bowl wins...What's the problem?

SB title does not mean that every player on their roster is better than every player on the Dolphins roster. He's a decent player, but I don't think he's an upgrade over what we have.
Remember, the Raiders thought Larry Brown was a good CB simply because he played on Dallas' defense in the SB.

So has Neal. In fact, Neal has been on the team 1 year longer.

Ashworth is good and young. We can still look for T in the draft. I think he would be a good fit on our line

I think the price for Ashmore being that he plays T will be higher than Neal. I think Neal is strong and he's pretty good.

I think both Ashworth and Neal would be worth a look. Tackle is a bigger need for us, but both of them are mid-level guys with some talent who wouldnt break the bank, and would be good material for Houck to work his magic on. Plus, we're gonna need to strengthen our line a bit to protect Brees (at least I hope, lol)

Don't forget Saban's philosophy of upgrading the bottom half of the roster as well as having great startes. Ashworth may or may not end up being a great starter but he is already an upgrade over the botom half of the roster.

Do you honestly think that Ashworth considers himself anything less than a starter? He will want a starters money. If he's young and so good, why isn't NE concerned about losing him?
