if we had better personnel decisions

we would have had someone in here that knew what they were doing when jimmy johnson stepped down, i mean a real good talent evaluator.

in 2001 we could have gotten reggie wayne, or todd heap, but we got fletcher

you have the 2002 draft where we traded away a 1st to get ricky, and of course gave away a 2nd and 7th for the future franchise qb feeley

of course you have the 2003 draft with the popular pick of eddy moore, when we cuold have had boldin, or uminyoira in the second rd

2004 pretty sure we would have had wilfork instead of carey
looking back at draft what a disaster players we drafted
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft04/tracker/team?team=mia

2005 yeah we got ronnie brown, but look at what else was there

2006 we got jason allen, i think someone else would have gotten cromartie or o line

2007 well we know what happen there we got the ginn family, when we could have gotten the patrick willis family

but looking back it, the ricky williams trade created a real bad domino affect for the future, among other stupid trades (feeley) set this franchise back 6-8 years we could have probably been americas team if someone that knew what they were doing was here not parcells but someone, the fins would have run through the whole nfl and this is just looking in the first round of the drafts feel free to look at the other rounds we picked seth mckinney right after that bryant westbrook got picked. your thoughts

I hear you, but its almost like beating a dead horse at this point. I don't think there is a person on this entire site that would argue your logic. I think we are all just thankful it is finally over.

It is actually surprising how quickly we have rebounded. Such a poor draft record over that many years really ought to set a franchise back much further.

Let's just be thankful and move on...

Love your sig.

But it's "Personnel"

Nothing personal ;)

thanks half sleep working here, but the positive thing is at least we are not the bengals or lions

This is hindsight, so who cares?

I mean yeah Reggie Wayne would have been a nice pick back in 2001, out of the U of M, most people actually had familiarity with him. But you can't just say the Dolphins should have taken Boldin (even though he was another recognizable guy from FSU) over Moore when Moore was a solid player at UT and a guy who could step in and succeed Zach Thomas and the rest of our aging LB corps.

Looking back like that is like staring in the rear view mirror while driving-- you're eventually going to crash.

Look forward....Those days are long over.

"......the ricky williams trade created a real bad domino affect for the future...."

nonsense like that statement creates not being able to take whatever else you say seriously, or maybe i'm exaggerating.

look back at the drafts, i love ricky williams, always had since texas, but when you have a scout team you are suppose to know what player comes out in future drafts, i think that trade was done to save his job

I doubt you were complaining much about the trade after Ricky's first year. The trade itself was a solid one, using and abusing Ricky was the problem. We needed to keep gathering talent around Ricky to become a great offense and that never happened. If it did I highly doubt Ricky ever would have "retired".
Trading for backups was the biggest problem we had in the past and then not signing D.Brees was obviousily the worst of the bunch.

The way I look at the past is if it didn't go so poorly then we wouldn't have the FO and coaching staff we do now. So just maybe it was great that we had such a bad run so we could get the right people here to make sure that this franchise is back on the map to stay.

Boy does it seem like a long time ago, when Wanny, Spielman, Saban and MoMO Cam and Mueller were running things!!! What a disgrace... i felt so bad for Mr. H, his head was spinning in all kinds of directions, with people telling him who to hire... it was like he was sort of taken advantage of, because he seemed so desperate to win!!! all these "KNOW IT ALLS" took this franchise down to the ground and almost burnt it!!! the dolphins were good for so long, i guess the law of averages took over.... there hasn't been any team that has remained good for all it's exsistance... just impossible!!! BUT on the bright side all th mayhem that was the Miami Dolphins seems to be in the past and the future looks bright with Parcells and Company running the show... i just hope this 2009 draft class can contribute as well as the one in 2008 !!!!

i think they will contribute in a big way especially the db's

why the trade was made isn't related to make poor draft choices later. and not to nitpick but it's domino effect in that context, not affect.

I agree more about the part where we did not aquire help for Ricky and did not work on the line. I dont buy that Ricky was overused, he seemed very happy year one. I just think the line played so bad the following year it took a huge toll.

Please change the thread title...When I clicked on it I thought you had married my ex-wife too..
