Do you think other free agents might take pay cuts to play with him? Or would it be better to work with the team we have that way we don't turn into another Redskins.

I see Brandon restructuring. He's the one that benefits the most

sorry... just noticed you said FA's

if we land Manning we wont have much money left for any free agents

Ozzy rules!!

alot of what you hear is not really the truth. Its just the media. An incentive laden contract is doable. They just have to draft well the next couple of years. tall order. but Ireland can do it.

If we get Manning, I see us trading down a couple times in this draft and picking up new players. We will get at least two OL this year. Bank on it.

I agree 100%. Trade down still get an RT and pick up the Aggies QB in the late 1st or second round. I am pumped with the possibility of Manning for us to win NOW but I still think we need to look long term and still draft a QB. We dont want to be stuck in the same boat 3-4 years down the line. Although Matt Moore will benefit the most from playing behind Manning and he is still young.

If we get manning, first thing we need to do is make sure he's protected. So either draft some decent OL or get some in FA. Gotta protect him if willing to take that risk. Then get a couple of other key spots filled and we are set to make a serious run at it. We eventually are going to need to address the QB spot long-term, but we can develop someone behind Peyton.

yes, yes, and yes. I think we definitely need to think like this but not just because we need to get our Right side Of OL. Its going to be also because Jake Long could be gone next year if his latest intimations come true. Manning's incentives will kick in for due money possibly and Long may be too expensive to keep. Must get a RT who also played LT in college.

Bull, we still will move b/c Manning is willing to work for his Franchises and we"ll be shifting pieces too.

imo we dont need much money for FAs the only spot i see is RT that is if we dont get jeff saturday over with manning then we can move pouncey over at RT and be set at OL for 3-4 years and really cb or maybe a OLB and we would be ready to kick the snot out of the AFC east and the rest of the NFL.....

i wouldnt be so sure about that.

although you deff can be right and peyton manning can cost us the bank, which would still be worth it, im thinking a bit different.

i think at this point of his career, being 37 knowing hes got 2-3 years tops most likely left, i think the most important thing to him is winning, getting that 2nd ring, and maybe more.

obviously we will have to pay him, but considering the man has made a boat load of money already from his playing career, than add in all his commercials he does which have paid him millions more over his career, he will have plenty of money to sit back on. also, he peyton manning, he will still be making money post football career, be it in broadcasting, commercials still, coaching, whatever, the guy is not some thug guy who will blow through a few hundred million on 30 cars and houses in 2 years like some athletes do.

i think he will want the best team around him to win, and if that means making a tad less money in a contract, and earning that money on incentives, i think he would honestly do it.

in the end, i think manning is going to the best situation, not the most money only. now obviously the team with the best situation can also give him the most money, but if some crap team offers him the house, and then a winning team gives him a nice contract, i feel he would take the latter.
