If We Really Draft Clay Matthews at 25, I'm Killing Someone

If the draft plays out as Scott Wright is suggesting and guys like Heyward-Bey, Harvin, Sintim, Alphonso Smith, DJ Moore, and all of the safeties are still there, I'm going to flip out if we pick Clay Matthews. He's a half decent prospect who had one good year as a starter, and I see him as more of a mid 2nd-3rd round prospect. I understand that we need a couple of linebackers fairly desperately but why would we draft Matthews over Sintim who is a much better talent?

This mock makes 0 sense for us in round 1. You're slippin Scott Wright.
 
agreed. we could maybe get him i the second. we should get a more solid pick at 25th.
 
I actually rather have Delmas, Britton, or Unger at #25. But if I had to choose between Matthews and Clintin. I'd rather have Matthews.

However, it really probably doesn't matter. Clintin may be gone by #25 anyways...

I wouldn't worry too much about this mock, it doesn't look good at a number of positions for a number of teams, in fact, I'd wager, any number of people on this board could do a better job of it. How can you not have B.J. Raji in the top 10 if not the top 5? And three OT's in the the top 10? This year? I don't think so, they all have too many question marks, although I could see 3 or 4 taken in the first round and maybe one taken in the top 10, two max, but not three.

I could see us drafting a different Linbacker if he was available such as Malugua for example, or I could see us drafting the top remaining Guard, Center, or Nose tackle, or even receiver or cornerback depending upon who was available before drafting this guy, yeah? So, I wouldn't worry about it, whoever wrote this mock draft may understand alot about the college prospects, but I don't neccessarily think that means he understands alot about every individual team that's drafting...
 
i love this time of year. Mock drafts try to guess what the dolphins will do. Do you notice how it changes every week. lol

Yep, next week we will be drafting a 6-foot 265-lb longsnapper from West Liberty State College with the 25th pick. Add that to our impending selections of a 4-year letterman "towel-boy" with the 2a pick and the BSA (best statistician available) with our 2b pick ... well, I think that we can ALL see just how dangerous this team will become.

It is too early to speculate what will transpire between now and the draft. We've all seen it way to many times, players stocks rise, and others plummett.....kind of like our economy right now

so what your sayin is that if parcells and co draft him you know more about talent than he does. this stuff makes me laugh sit back and wait to see who we draft first give them 3 years to see if the picks turn out than freak out. plus there is a thread on this exact topic already MERGE
 
I remember when we drafted Ted Ginn and left Brady on the board, at that moment I thought for sure people were gunna die
 
When they announced the #9 pick that year I actually think my heart did stop for a couple seconds....then I wanted to hop a plane to Miami and punch Cam in the face. I've gotten over the draft though...but i still want to punch Cam in the face.

I was late getting to my friends house who I normally watch both days of the draft with. I was in his parcking lot when they announced the pick.

I almost crashed against his fence.

i was upset aswell but as it turned out ginn jr has been the more productive. we have to trust the trifecta untill proven that they cant be
 
With the Ted Ginn over Brady Quinn pick I was shocked, disappointed, and unhappy, but I've always liked Ginn and thought he would be a good pro. In fact, if Quinn weren't there I was kinda hoping we'd pick Ginn, so I wasn't too upset. He's starting to show the promise he has and in his 3rd year I think he'll make a breakthrough. If we had a strong armed QB like Flacco I really think people would be higher on Ginn because he'd force a lot of double-teams. But, with Pennington's arm, people sometimes single-cover Ginn thinking Pennington cannot accurately deliver the ball that far, and they're often correct. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Pennington, but he isn't the type of QB that plays to Ginn's speed.

As for Matthews I like him, but he's a tad short, a tad light, and a tad slow to be the pick at 25. If Cushing dind't have the injury problems he'd be the ideal choice. Matthews could play ILB if he bulked up, but I'd rather have Laurinaitis who has the size and speed already. Matthews could play OLB if he were a little faster and preferrably taller as well, but those two things aren't going to change. He's going to be a good pro, but not a great pro like Clay Matthews was ... because the NFL has gotten bigger and faster in that time. :(
 
Everyone has a scenario, we have no idea how this is going to turn out.
Oh and if Parcells picks a LB, especially one you didnt expect, the dumbest thing you should do is not trust him, have you seen his LB drafting track record.
