What other options should the Dolphins address? Should they draft a qb and groom him for a few years or wait a while? Thoughts?

I was thinking Tannehill would be great to groom under Peyton, but I think if we go Peyton and Wayne, we may just go all in and make a run at the Super Bowl and use that 8th pick on something else. I dunno, its a good problem to have.

I would still use this years or next years #1 to draft a QB(depending on if Sherman and the FO likes Tannehill or not). Manning is obviously great, but this is very short term.

If you guys snag Manning, it would be a travesty not to go after a stud to compliment him and help him win a superbowl or two. I think that 8th pick is one of your bigger bargaining chips when it comes to the Manning sweepstakes, they can assure him they are gonna draft talent to help him win now not spend that high pick to draft a QB of the future. I know the draft is QB deep this year, but screw it... this isn't a time to hedge your bets... go all in for a Super Bowl.

Also, to be honest, and this is what makes me the most sad as a Colts fan, I think he has more than a few years left. You could see it in that press conference yesterday. The dude loves to play, heck he would of had 4 more seasons left on his Colts contract. I think he has AT LEAST 4 more for whoever he plays for. The dude is just gonna keep playing as long as his body lets him, which I think will be for a while. So now isn't the time to spend valuable picks on a backup. If you win the sweepstakes... enjoy it. I'll become an instant Fin fan thats for sure.

Thanks for your insight, welcome to FH !Your absolutely right about the #8 pick being a bargaining chip and the situation with other QBs on the roster being a main focal point... Tannehill is widely known as a project player that should be prepared to sit for a year or more, but the pick can be used to improve the team now. Richardson could be there for the taking, if not we'll probably get a RT or Defender, barring trade down. That pick could = Mike Wallace if we wanted it to. Not what i'd prefer, but just saying. If we land Manning, we're "all in", folks. Stay classy.

Yea, a Richardson Bush combo would be pretty amazing. Plus I'd love to see the Manning/Wayne combo stay together, Manning to Wayne, Marshall, and Bush would be mind boggling, then you throw Richardson in the mix and your offense would be beyond unstoppable. I have a heard that a RT is a need for you guys, and O-line is important, I think the Manning would of won more SBs with a better o-line in front of him. But 8 is pretty high to be picking a RT, unless he's being groomed to be the LT of the future, but Jake Long is still fairly young for a LT, so your set there IMO. I don't know if Richardson would fall, but if he did I think thats the pick. How are you guys along the D-line? Coples, Cox or Brockers should be there at 8. Ingram or Upshaw at OLB is interesting as well.

If we get Richardson what the hell do we do with Daniel thomas lol?

Hope Blackmon falls. If not, I like the idea of Tannehill or BPA DE/OLB. No way on the OL with #8. I think Philbin will be able to mold our current guys, including Jerry and Murtha, into something Sparano lived up to doing. An elite offensive line.

Matt Flynn Matt Flynn Matt Flynn, FORGET MANNING!!!

IF FLYNN is the real deal, Coach PHILBIN will let everyone--EVERYONE--including ROSS know it, and MIAMI will gracefully bow out of the MANNING Sweepstakes. IF MIAMI DOES go after MANNING bigtime, it'll be because PHILBIN didn't give FLYNN a BIG recommendation. After all, PHILBIN ALSO wants success. I don't at all believe that he'd risk his personal prestige/job for the sake of a former employee, or for a "name" to sell tickets, overpriced greasy hot dogs, and warm beer.
