Lions listening to trade offers for 2nd pick

The Detroit Free Press is reporting the Lions are listening to trade offers for the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft. According to Matt Millen, he's talking to teams that are interested in JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn.

Trading down and acquiring more draft choices makes a lot of sense for the Lions, a team that has many holes to fill. Also, they don't seem to be interested in any of the top players in the draft except for Joe Thomas.

If we trade up for Detroit's pick (#2 overall) what will it realistically take and who should we pick out of:

1. Calvin Johnson
2. Joe Thomas
3. Jamarcus Russell

What would we have to give up and who would you choose with the #2 pick and who would you pick with our remaining first day pick(s)?
Two of these three guys will be available with the #2 pick. My preference is: 1. Calvin Johnson
2. Joe Thomas
3. Jamarcus Russell

If we take CJ I say we pick the top available QB or OL. If we take Thomas I say we pick the top available WR. And if by chance we take Russell then I say we take the top available WR unless we sign Stallworth, in that case I'd go with the top available OL.

It will cost way too much to trade up to number two. If we are going to trade up at all, I'd imagine it would be no higher than the fourth pick from Tampa Bay. Trading with Detroit would likely strip us of almost all our first day picks or cost us even more picks next year.

Might cost too much when you're dealing with any other team, but when you're dealing with Matt Millen, you can almost get anything you want. I mean look, he saved all of us [every team in the league] from drafting 2 superstar college busts receivers.

For us to move up to the #2 spot will take atleast 2 #1 draft picks plus maybe a #2 this year and/or next year.

While I would like to move up and possibly get Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas, I'm not sure it we can afford it.

trade down not up.there is a lot of late 1st round or second round talent we could use.

this will not happen.
we can fill a need at 9. we don't need to go selling the farm for one dude.

we are accumulating picks to use them, not give them away.
