I believe we'll either have to have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, play a dome team on the road, or play a team that has relatively nice weather that time of year like Jacksonville, San Diego, or the Raiders. I just can't see a team that spends most of their days playing in a tropical climate going up to say NE or to Pittsburgh in January and playing well enough to beat the team, the crowd, and the weather. I know this is neither here nor there since we aren't going to the playoffs but I was just thinking about what we'll have to do next season to win. That's just my opinion.

You dont need to worry about this now, we wont be going to the playoffs next year either unless we get a QB.

I do agree with you though, this team has proven thats unable to play in cold weather in recent years.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed that we have only worn White all year? Even the home games have all been White...

It was also a team that couldn't win in December, a team that couldn't win on the West Coast, yadda, yadda, yadda... Coach Saban has already shown his ability to turn things around. The inability to win cold weather games will also be a thing of the past. This is a NEW REGIME! Out with the old and in with the new. Banzai!!

the dolphins in the past never won in december untill now. so we dont need homefield advantage. it would help but good teams always find ways to win..

Actually I think this team can be successful in a cold weather environment. I remember a couple of times Buffalo blowing out Miami in the playoffs in Buffalo, but that was a different team that didn't have the ability to run the ball. Winning on the road in the playoffs is always tough, but in a game with bad weather having a good running game is essential, and I think that runningbacks like Ricky and Ronnie would run well. I would take the Phins in bad weather over them in a Dome.

I have to disagree here...The reason we haven't been winning in the cold is because the phins were an overachieving(sp?) team, bad coached by wanny. We could win games when everything was clicking for us. Add a snow weather, or some injury, or some bad luck, and boom! we would lose.

Now we are a well coached team, growing. Even if we lose next game to the pats, it's not due the weather,it's cause we're just not good enough, yet.
Watch out for this team hasting slowly to be a force..And championship teams gotta win everywhere, with any weather, any circunstance.
Indeed, the bad weather makes the game tougher, though I don't think it should be the main reason to make you lose, if you're playing some champion football.

Example: Pats were champions with how many injured guys? heck, i couldn't even count..that's much worse than bad weather

This is a different team than it was in past years and even different from what it was at the beginning of the season. IMO you can't draw any conclusions about what this team will do by looking at what those other teams did.

Miami was notorious for falling in the second half of the season. I dont see it happening during the saban era. Yeah, we might lose a game or two but it wont be nothing like it used to be. Cold weather wont be a factor as long as we can run when we want to and play great defenses..

during shulas last years we werent winning late in the season either. So you cant blame it all on wanny..
