Listen. Forget the 4.77. He ran way better at his pro day. But even that means nothing.

This guy was once mentioned as a first rounder, and there's a reason why. How many times have we heard our fans bitch about our receivers not get separation? We'll guess what. He gets separation. Not sometimes. CONSISTENTLY.

When Zach was looking for a go-to guy for a first down or a red zone catch, Jarvis was his guy. Not Odell.

You all may think this is a homer post. In actuality, it's more about shock that a guy with this skill and production dropped. And it's all because of the official 40 time.

We just drafted a hybrid of Anquan Boldin and OJ McDuffie.

OK separation at the college level with a 4.5. As a fan can you give me examples of NFL quality DB's he was burning? That's what would help.

Where is our redzone guy? I still don't see one on this roster.

I agree. He's very OJ McDuffie - people do not realize how crucial a player like this is in an offense. He is so sound - and a fighter - those are players that possess. It makes teams commit to the possession game and it opens up the field. Brilliant pick!

Well, at least we have another guy with good hands to catch in the slot. I like the kid's hands a lot.

Was really hoping for a WR in the second. Also just the one drop. Looks like he was taken about where most projected.

Good. I feel horrible for jumping the gun and spazzing about the 40 time. This guy, the more I read, sounds exactly like what we need. Then Hickey gets us another quality cornfed taboot.

My knee jerking urges are not my friend.

Do you realize how silly it is to use a receiver's 40 time to judge his ability to separate?

The other irony about my idiotic Garrapolo post (thread title was sarcasm, BTW), is that Mettenberger might be THE steal of the draft at the QB position from what I've read.

I'm not an LSU fan but watched quite a few of their games last year and Landry is absolutely one of my favorite players in the entire draft. I don't care where all the "experts" had him ranked. He's a damn good and highly productive receiver. Forget measurables, he has a football sense and toughness that you can't teach.

I enjoy and appreciate SEC football except for a certain coach in AL (hint: not Malzahn) & team in FL. Now, that you mention it, JL was Mettenberger's go to guy.

I really like the pick.

Landry, Wallace, Hartline, & Gibson will make for an interesting 4 WR set. The thought of Moreno & Sims w/ the revamped OL keeping RT17 upright bring a smile to my face.
