If you had to choose 1 roster/coaching staff.... would it be Jets or Fins?

I could be wrong, but I think Miami has better young talent. A lot of the Jets best players are veterans like Brandon Marshall who will need to be replaced soon.

Plus, I wouldn't want the Jets situation at quarterback. That has haunted New York for a long time going back to when Rex Ryan had some initial success there. Quick name the last competent quarterback in New York. Chad Pennington comes to mind. For those complaining about Ryan Tannehill, the Jets might be 3-3 with him at the helm. That's how bad Ryan Fitzpatrick has been.

Too early to say on the coaching staff. I also thought Miami should have hired Todd Bowles and he had a really strong first year with the Jets. Not sure he'll survive this year, however. Adam Gase looked shaky in his first five games, but the win against Pittsburgh was a complete game. Let's see what he can do when he puts his stamp on the team.

Bottom line both of these teams have been a disappointment this year. New York fans probably expected a playoff run. I think most fans here were thinking around .500. That has to be a lack of talent overall.

our roster is better, our coaching is a disaster. Your coaching staff is still TBD. tough call.

I agree that Jets GM Mike Maccagnan is pretty solid.

I skewered the last guy they hired on here. We could go find the threads but we don't care enough to do so. I heard that moron in a couple of interviews with the likes of Mike Francesa and knew he was going to be a disaster. To the Jets credit, they bailed on him right away. If it was apparent to me, then the folks inside the building probably recognized they mis-fired on the hiring.

We have probably all hired people who killed it in an interview and when the person started, he or she was not quite what we thought.

Remember the sentiment around here after the Jets destroyed the Bills on Thurs night? A lot said we had no chance against their d-line and receiving corps. Now, just 4 weeks later they are viewed as garbage all around. You can never overreact too much to one game. The Bills-49ers game played out almost exactly like the Dolphins-Steeler game. Did we make the Steelers look as bad as the 49ers or were the Steelers just bad all by themselves on that Sunday?

Also of interest: Football Outsiders has Fitzpatrick and Tannehill as one-two --as the worst 2 QBs in the league (statistically)...

I never understood the love for Bowles. Our DB's were bad while he was coaching them, no idea why anyone thought he would be a good HC after that.

What's the sentiment in New York regarding Todd Bowles? Do you think he gets through this year or do you see the Jets making a change there?

As to the roster, I think the teams are pretty close. I think the Jets have more defensive talent, but the quarterback situation in New York is terrible. Not saying Ryan Tannehill is elite, but he's right in the middle of the pack without a ton around him.

he's only just beginning to feel heat. I would be surprised if he was fired and as much as I dislike him as a coach now I don't want him fired. he has some great qualities you look for in a HC but he's done an awful job since week 17 of last year.

If I'm not mistaken, The jets OC is Chan Gailey. Do we need to say anymore?

This question reminds me of a line in the movie Money Ball. "Would you rather get shot in the head or take 5 shots in the gut?" to which the reply was "Are those my only options?"

I take none of the above.

I thought we were gonna regret losing Bowles.

He's a good coach IMO he's just getting bit by the "I just got paid Fitzpatrick"

i think he is mishandling alot, however the roster is bad and getting older fast

i still like Todd Bowles, we were crazy not making him HC over Philbin. the Jets are in deep **** until they address the QB correctly. Fitzpatrick is back to being Fitzpatrick. Geno is the worst QB on an NFL roster in the NFL and they clearly think very little of their two young guys Petty and Hackenberg to give him the over either of them.

Not that I`M Doubting your evaluation skills but could you explain that with about 80 qbs on rosters (I checked)........
how you came to the conclusion that Mr Smith is the worst one?

Well comparing them head to head would be the easier thing to do

Dolphins HC=Jets Head Coach--neither one has done much and it waay to early to tell with Gase-i think if the Jets had at least an average QB like tannehill they might have 2 ore wins--Fitzpatrick is Terrible

Tannehill>Fitzpatrick--Like i said fitz is terrible--tannehill may not be great but he's certainly not terrible.
Ajai>Forte--Purely based on potential and youth I'm going with ajai
Landry and Parker<Marshall and Decker--Marshalls resume speaks for itself and Decker is a really solid #2
Dolphins o-line<Jets o-line--well everyone here says we have the worst o-line in the league
Dolphins d-line<jets d-line--Suh is great but Wilkerson and Richardson are a top 5 DE combo
Misi, Jenkins, Kiko<they don't have Misi, Jenkins and Kiko
Howard, Maxwell,<Revis--Revis
Jones,Abdul>Gilchrist, Pryor--Jones is arguably the best SS in the league

looks like jets win but i still take the phins because jets suck.

Tannehill/Fitz...we could debate both all day. At the end of it they play a lot different but both guys have the capability of being streaky players who crumble when the chance comes for real success. Pretty much the same.

I don't blame bowles for their problems.

Watching those jets games, you'll see a lot of guys on defense not playng up to their potential. I've never seen that from a Todd Bowles defense so I'm not ready to blame him. Everyone is getting burned it seems. A lot of the young guys aren't doing much either it seems.

I dunno if Jenkins is doing anything but the other 2 young linebackers have been terrible. The young safety is getting exposed weekly too. On paper that defense looked ready to be really gold but it's clearly not happening.

As for Fitz, we all knew those floaters were going to get picked this year, especially if he was forced to throw. Not having a healthy chris ivory is hurting that offense big time.
