Tannehill has and mcl sprain and a partial tear of the acl. The mcl will heal no problem but the partial tear is the tricky part. If you get the surgery and rehab it's likely stronger but he would miss the offseason and training camp and maybe even a few games to start 2017. Or he could opt for no surgery rehab all offseason and potentially need to wear a brace throughout the year and the potential for fully tearing it at somepoint during his career remains higher, but it may never become an issue again either.

say you were a voice with the docs, the staff and Tannehill and the odds were 50/50 without surgery It will fully tear on you at a later date and 50/50 it never effects you again sans a knee brace.

what do you advise...?

go see Andrew right away, get repairs, get to rehab.. lotta playbook left to learn

Since I am not a doctor I can't provide input as to what is best course of treatment for anthers injury. It is tough enough making decisions dealing with ones own injury let alone someone you don't know shoot about medically. I hope Ryan does what is best for Ryan and if that means surgery then I hope he gets it.

The acl surgery from what I understand doesn't just sew back on your acl they replace it with tissue the doctor makes from harvested tissue from knee or hamstring and attach new Acl. And what I read says healing could be as early as 4-5 months and others 12 months to 24 months.

It appears it depends on the damage to the rest of the knee itself. We know he also sprained the mcl. For example Adrian Peterson blew his knee up and was back by miricale many will say in 9 months. Derrick Rose was out 17 months plus.

So that's why I say 50/50 and give those parameters

Lol, 50/50 is a rediculous number to throw out, obviously you would go surgery. No doctor would ever even consider otherwise.

If the professionals though he needed surgery then I believe he would have had it already.

You're not giving medical advice lol you're answering a hypothetical poll on a fan site. The real decision is of course with Ryan himself and anyone he chooses to lean on.

From an Organizational Standpoint you want to protect the larger part of the future. You have the surgery and move forward.

It would absolutely not surprise me if he has surgery this week.

This is what I'm getting at...don't be surprised if we hear this soon. This week will tell us a lot on how they really see the knee

Matt Moore was 29 for 36 and 289 yards with poor blocking in front of him, against the Steelers. So.....take your time Tannehill, im cool with Moore starting the first 2 games.
