If you had to cut either Wake or Pouncey, who'd you cut?

We're almost 20mill over the cap plus we're going to need almost 8mill for the draft so lets just say we're 27mill over the cap. If Landry goes that's 16 and Thomas and Timmons is another 10mill with the cap hit/dead money. Now keep on mind that we still need to get our Kicker and long snapper re-sign plus at least one more of our own ST's player so that's several mill more. Anyway, for those thinking that the cap is no problem, just think about all that and of course you would like to get one or two free agents. Cutting Wake would save us 8.5mill and Pouncey around 9mill so if it came to that and it might not depending on what they do with James......would you cut Pouncey or Wake?

I'd cut Pouncey because we have Brendel who did good last year and Larsen and Steen can both play center if needed.
Wake on the other hand is part of a D-line that's making a ton of money and he's the only one you can cut and save money.

To me, that's easy, POUNCEY. We need continuity, reliability, toughness & talent on our OL. POUNCEY had talent.
 
If you could reliably count on Pouncey to play 16 healthy games, I think this might actually be an interesting question because of our newly acquired depth on the D-line and lackthereof on the O-line.

However, considering that Pouncey is very much unlikely to play even the majority of the season healthy, and his bloated salary contrasted to Wake's ungodly ability to defy age and produce consistently....it's a no brainer call here.

Cut Pouncey.
 
Just keep on mind guys that our FO normally does the opposite of what the majority here wants.....lol

I'd ideally like to lower Wake's cap number too but the man deserves to be paid. Last year of what is likely his last big deal.
 
The guy with the degenerative hips who can't practice, or the physical freak who gives it his all every down, and is still one of the league better pass rushers despite his advanced age. Tough one.
