I wasn't able to see the game beyond highlights and I was wondering, is it ignorant to hope for Gordon to become a start back for us?

Obviously we can never know until he plays more and more, but I'm just asking if you see the speed, the moves, and the vision there for him to truly become a 1,000 +yd back for us? How did he run? What imprsessed you? Or is he merely as promising as Minor right now (hence, not too much)?

our future?? Kind of hard to say only after one game...

I'll tell you one thing though...From what I saw, I truly believe he's better than what we had (yes, better than Minor) & is now our best RB on the roster. He made some nice plays ... The guy is tough to bring down...plays with alot of heart as well.

My concern would be stamina...can he endure a whole game as the featured back?? Im not sure he's played a full game as a featured back, but i could be wrong.

keep in mind he didnt know the playbook 100% so his runs were pretty basic. (although broke a few tackles and had 2 or 3 guys hanging on him). I beleive he dropped a pass and bobbled another but managed to catch it.

Also, he wasnt used as a pass blocker AT ALL simply because he didnt know the playbook.

He had one great game with the Rams last year as a fill-in, but he wasn't able to go the next week. That may be the ankle problem that was fixed this off-season, I'm not entirely sure.

I think he did excellent on Saturday for only being on the team for 48 hours. There is no way ANYBODY can learn all the plays and formation in two days. He messed up a few times and ran some wrong routes (causing Feely's INT) but give him a few weeks, and I think he'll be able to put up some decent games.

He played full games in St louis when Faulk was hurt and played extremely well... I remember thinking they should make Faulk the 3rd down back right after he came back from being hurt, at least until he was up to full speed.
I liked Gordon then, and thought he showed great ability yesterday. This guy's got the moves, the strength, and the ATTITUDE to be a real winner and a top 10 feature back in the league within a year.... given the right offensive scheme I think he has the potential to be a top 5 back as he gains experience and matures.

Just checked my Ricky Williams Magic 8 ball and it came up with "HUH?"

I personally havent seen him. I heard mandich and everyone praising him, but the one thing I am impressed with is his attitude more than anything. This guy spent almost 2 days straight hard at work learning our plays. He really really wants to be here. Almost no one else I can think of woulda put the work in he did in 2 days just to get in the game as much as possible. I love this guy already and if what everyone is saying about him is true, he will be a great player for us.

Not sure, but he sure looked good at times.

He's got the size, speed and he hits the hole quickly. I think he's the whole package and definitely worth the third that we gave up for him. Is he going to be a star? Well, that remains to be seen. I think alot of that depends on how well the O-line gels.

I definetly agree he's worth that 3rd rd pick,
Did we get a steal? remains to be seen... Did we get a deal?? you bet we did.

All I can say is he will have a great opp. to show what he's got against a team who just gave up 200 yrds rushing to C. Martin.

I saw him a few plays and he looked hesitant to me, but it was only 3 plays or so. I'm looking forward to next week. I picked up Gordon quick in my fantasy league

i figure he is an upgrade..and once he learns offense he should be very productive...he needs a few weeks though....hopefully the offense will have it going before its too late

I haven't seen him play, but it does seem as though the Rams didn't hold him in such a high regard. Obviously he wasn't gonna replace Faulk, but drafting Jackson in the 1st round didn't show much faith in Gordon.

However, not saying teams haven't been wrong before... (how bout Baltimore letting go of Holmes??)

From what I have read since he came onbaord is that he was in Martz's dog house for complaining of pain over time. And then they discovered that he had bone chips/spurs (one of those, or are they the same thing?) in his ankle (pretty sure it was ankle) for the past two years, hence the pain. I also read that Martz apologized to him when they found this out. Anyways surgery this past offseason removed them finally and he played the last preseason game this August with solid production.

That's what I remember reading.
