If you saw the game, is Gordon our future?

From what I have read since he came onbaord is that he was in Martz's dog house for complaining of pain over time. And then they discovered that he had bone chips/spurs (one of those, or are they the same thing?) in his ankle (pretty sure it was ankle) for the past two years, hence the pain. I also read that Martz apologized to him when they found this out. Anyways surgery this past offseason removed them finally and he played the last preseason game this August with solid production.

That's what I remember reading.

That's right! Martz was saying how he thought Gordon was a sissy that could not play thru pain. Their team doctors took X-Ray after X-Ray and found nothing wrong with his ankle. Then he was given an MRI, and a huge chip was found missing from his ankle, and the Doctors who gave the MRI told Martz that Gordon must be one tough mofo to have played with this type injury. Thus the reason for Martz's appology.

I also read where someone had watched him play in college. They said that after the ankle injury which was his Junior year of college I believe, he just wasnt the same but if he is back to pre ankle injury form we got a steal!

I don't think you can quite call him the future just yet..... Feeley looked more like a positive future, but Gordon probably knows 5% of the playbook right now...... I do know that Gordon is a helluva pickup for the Fins, and should do a LOT of good in South Florida this season.

True, nobody can dare say he's our future without seeing him play some full games, I was just looking for a general impression.

I'm curious though, what's Brown's story? How did Tennesee get a guy with that much promise (seeing as they dont get low draft picks)?

When did he become a "who?" to a "this guy may be our future!" Because to be honest, I had not heard much of him untill this preseason.

(Oh the irony, Marino goes 17 years w/out finding a back and Tennesee loses a former great one and finds another talented back in one offseason  .)

u cant tell after 1 game, he didnt run enough., he doesnt even know the damn playbook yet.Anyways he either be gone next season or be back-up to some other back. But u never know, he might break out at somepoint this year, ya never know.

I was impressed by Gordon.

Looking at his situation, coming into Miami after what...48 hours and learning the gameplan and performing the way he did was admirable.

As already noted, he is a definite upgrade over the second tier runners we already had starting. From here on, he should start IMO.

Gordon is the man for this year. He can defenitely run the ball effectively and fights for every yard. He is great for teh passing game. Its about time we started hitting the RB over the middle when everything else is not working. Marino to Terry Kirby it reminded me of.

this is another thing, dude came in on the fly. so as time goes on, dude should have his game down pat. Then the Oline will have more power to fool the defense so the blocking gets better. Other than the stupid *** mistakes at the line, i thought they did a good job, the can get better though and they will. Carey has to step it up and not be so lazy. He has the talent but he needs to play with more fire. He will be better next year cus i dont think he realises yet what he is going against at this level.

He has to get the passing audibles and all that stuff down, the blocking assginments on blitzes, things of that nature.

Let's just hope at the bye week were at least over .500. By then Gordon and AJ should have some rythm with the rest of this team and we can make a push. (Now if only Maimi put Boston on the PUP list instead of the IR. There will be a lot of dissapointment if Boston does what he reportedly intended to do and recovers from his injury. Despite the heavy doubts, you can't completely doubt a physical specimen like him.)

Bye is in week 10 I believe.

I personally havent seen him. I heard mandich and everyone praising him, but the one thing I am impressed with is his attitude more than anything. This guy spent almost 2 days straight hard at work learning our plays. He really really wants to be here. Almost no one else I can think of woulda put the work in he did in 2 days just to get in the game as much as possible. I love this guy already and if what everyone is saying about him is true, he will be a great player for us.

Yea, I agree man. I love how the main focus of his first interview here is how he is reading the playbook 24/7.

Yeah, Feeley looks good. Once Gordon becomes familiar we will see but I liked what I saw with only 2 days.

How is Brown's ankle? knee? That kid is for real!

He may not be the future of the team its way to hard to tell. But as of right now he is the best rb they have so i hope he gets a lot of touches in cincy next week. The o will need a good running game if they want any shot at winning any games this year.

i remember 2 years ago when faulk went down he came in and played GREAT and ive liked him ever since, last year he didn't do as well but now it was that injury and he was in mike martz dog house thats why he was number 3 on the depth charts (kinda like lamont jordan on the jets)

hes much better than a 3rd string running back and he'll show that this year, i have the utmost confidence in him... *looks at avatar*

The Rams drafted Steven Jackson because he was the best player available. They know that to run their offense, they cant have too many skill guys in the backfield, especially with Marshall getting up in age.

It is kinda like Dave constantly bringing in more corners, or drafting linebackers.
