who said he graded out higher than flacco and who said he was a top 10 caliber pick just b/c miami liked a FUTURE franchise qb enough to not take any chances. (which good for them, if thats there guy get him) Cam Newton may not have been "liked" by some people, but he was NFL ready, and once luck was not coming out of college Newton was probably the best or at least top 2 qbs in that draft - tannehill is a much different situation. He needs to have space to develop lets let it happen.
Mayock and Kiper and McShay and people on this board have said he graded out higher.
And if he doesn't develop? Will you give Ireland and company time to find another QB? See when you use a TOP 10 pick in today's NFL for a QB, they start sooner rather than later. What MIA did and expects a fickle fan base to do, is be patient. With the banners from the airplanes, to talk radio and then the Occupy Davie movement. You are asking alot. I personally think you play him. You don't wait 2 years to see what you got. You throw him in feet first and make him sink or swim. A TOP 10 pick shouldn't be given 2-3 years to get it. Let him learn on the job. And let MIA know what they have.
This isn't new from me. Prior to the draft I said the same things. If you invest a TOP 10 pick in today's NFL, they play sooner rather than later.
