I couldnt tell you. He says our identity is running football, but Eric Moulds got suspended because he says this offense has no identity.
Moulds spoke the truth and got punished for it. He likes to trick defenses too much.
For example, He told Eric Moulds he wouldnt be the go to guy against Miami because he always has good games against Miami and they will be focused on stopping him.
So, Mularkey does the defenses job by taking our go to guy out of the offense before the game even starts. Thats just one example of his horrible game plans.
He didnt use Henry and McGahee well at all. He only used one guy, while the other one would come in for a play or 2. One game, Henry had all the carries and Mcgahee just watched the whole game, for no reason at all.
Lets not forget, he takes McGahee out on 3rd downs for Shaud Williams. Williams doesnt do anything when he comes in the game. We didnt pass to him, there were no plays designed for the quicker Williams, we just brought him in just to trick defenses., didnt work and McGahee would just be watching.
Trick plays, I wont even get into those. He loves them.
People talk about his days with the Steelers. Well, when we hired him, Steeler fans thanked us and laughed at us. We came back with his stats in 01 and 02, they said he changed our style.
The Steelers started as a running football team under MM, but slowly, Mularkey changed the mentality of the Steelers offense to where they were a passing team. In 2003, Steeler fans got sick of it and Bill Cowher was looking for Mularkey's replacement, but we hired Mularkey before he was fired, basically because of Donahoes relationship with him.
Also, Mularkey was the offensive CoOrdinator/Head coach in buffalo. He didnt do anything except deal with the offense. Jerry Gray had total control of the defense, Arpil had the special teams, and Mularkey had the offense.
His offenses are very predictable, even though he tries to trick defenses. Defenses we play say they know whats comming. I got sick and tired of hearing defenses say that after games.
He is a good guy, but if you put the offense in his hands, I wouldnt trust him.
