If You Want To Listen To Kendall Langford's Conference Call...

Wow, that was interesting. He seemed to do a little better as the interview went on.

Sounds like a good guy. Has that blue collar attitude, which is something I like. Its going to be fun watching him develop in camp....

I think we're laying the groundwork for a fun DL of the future.

Bill Parcells called him. I don't know if he's calling all of our picks but that's a good sign to get a phone call directly from Bill Parcells.

"Langford's never going to be an elite pass-rusher as he simply doesn't have the explosiveness or agility to get to the quarterback off the edge on a consistent basis. On the other hand, he has the makings of an excellent 3-4 end. He has good size and the frame to get even bigger, shows good lower-body strength and has the upper-body strength to control blockers. Very well stated. Many on here seem to think that Philip Merling will play DE when truth be told 3-4 OLB is his more natural position-- I have another thread discussing that.

Langford on the other hand is much more natural at "holding the line" and playing 2-gaps at the next level because his natural ability is not penetration. Outstanding pick by Parcells. He won't put up sexy numbers but he'll be doing the dirty work in our 3-4 for years.

I don't think that I remember anyone ever saying that JT was a 3-4 DE.

If someone with any sort of credibility ever said that, they should have lost their job on the spot.

Well i didnt know he played DE in a 3-4 in college! So he is a natural 3-4 DE. Who had 6 sacks 72 tackles and 13.5 TFL and 12 QB hurries and 2 fumbles 1 TD.

Not half bad for a 3rd rounder

Langford seems like an OLB in the 3-4, he seems incredibly fast.

i hope we stop drafting DE's, we have plenty as it is. we NEED a WR, CB, SS.
