If you were let down by the long vid.

Chris Long is better with more potential, but if we took him I wouldn't complain, he is a bad man. For the 5 year contract we give him, he would bring it, after that he would decline because his potential would have been reached and better players would start to surpass him. As for a rookie contract goes, he might be more prepared for the first contract, not the second. C Long would be like Zach, here for the long haul and worth every penny.

Highlight video's are great for pumping you up on a player, they show you all a players best plays, but what they don't show you is the plays where the player disapears.

Chris Long never disapears.......that is the difference.

60 minutes of full blown "not quit".........thats what makes a great football player.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It is starting to appear the Gholston has been over-hyped to an extent and his draft stock might be coming back to Earth just a bit.

You summed it all up with that post IMO. From the reports I've seen Vernon disapears on running plays and don't show much effort. I don't think we need that with the 32nd best rush D in the NFL.

Thanks for the video. But if you look at Chris's video you will see he is doubled on almost every play and gets held alot. Long commands more attention and is better against the run. I'm not impressed at all with Vernon.
 
I've said before i think long is the better player, can't a guy share a vid.

Longs lack of explosion, is why peeps are not sold on him.

yep , and when you start hearing that a guy "takes plays off" then they are the guys that get drafted then you really don't hear much about again, i've seen it every year, for years.

That was a sweet *** video!! edited nicely. But...
Still think Long is suited to be our dude....same system, all they say is he may have to learn to play upright and drop into coverage. Also during the combine they said he has fluid hip rotation and shifts easily so i don't think that will be much of an obstacle. He makes the most sense, but of course that doesn't mean he's a lock, you never know. Ted Ginn at #9? ok, i hope we see that come to fruition. (with our special teams additions i think we will, hold on Miami Phans!)

the only thing that imrpesses me about vernon is his speed that actuallly shows in the game chasing the QB and his bull rush. past that im on longs jock. the man reminds me of a white version of JT. his smarts, his ability to sniff out plays before it happens, the pass deflections, the potentials INTS he causes or almost gets himself. and i love how he can chase a RB down from behind as well.
