Lets say its the 2006 draft...the Houston Texans have the #1 pick, 49ers have the #2 pick, MIAMI has #3....obviously Houston and 49ers dont need a QB...so being at #3, we are safe to get Matt Leinart. BUT..."lets say" the...umm....SAINTS have the #7 and #11 pick....the Saints offer us their #7, #11, AND their 2nd rounder for OUR #3...because they are DESPERATE for Matt Leinart. YOU being Nick Saban...would you accept their offer, meaning ud just sign another veteran, wait for Brady Quinn or Brian Brohm in 2 years and draft...lets say Ngata and the best linebacker available...giving us 2, 2nd round picks, possibly drafting a QB later......OR would u "just say NO" to their offer because ur desperate for Matt Leinart? I hope i didnt confuse any of you...I just wanna see what u all think.

ME...id accept it. I love Brady Quinn's performance and i think Brian Brohm is spectacular also...lets face it, Miami wont have a winning record for another 2-3 years...so even if we do draft Leinart, he wont turn us around. And there is NO EXCUSE as to why we are doing so poorly with all the talented names on our team (defense), i personally believe Saban wants to purposely lose so we get YOUNG like he said- may sound silly but i believe it, with the draft....and i support that idea.

So if YOU were Saban...would u accept this offer?? Why or why not?

Wow, I LOVE Leinhart but that is a deal we could not refuse. We have too many holes to fill to say no to that one.

It would be a hard decision to make IMO. We NEED a QB and Leinart could solve our problems for 10 years or so. Then again, there are quite a few FA QB's and we do needs to get some younger guys on defense. I really don't know what I would do, but if you put a gun to my head and I had to choose, then I guess I would draft Leinart.

like the Cowboys....they had #11 and #20 last year....."lets just say" the same happened with any other team, for instance the SAINTS...it can be the #7 and #11, OR #11 and #20, OR #10 and #14. Either or.

I wouldn't. You assume that if we just wait, Brady Quinn will fall ot us. I seriously doubt that will be the case. Quinn will go gop 5 when he comes out, and there is no guarantee that we will get our hands on him.

Let's draft Leinart so we can stop having to worry about QBs. I think it's especially important because this years talent pool is really watered down when it comes to QBs. Get Leinart, and if not, draft QB next year when more exciting QBs come out. But in no way trade away from Leinart.

Leinart plays for a USC team that is strong everywhere.....imagine Leinart playing for the Cardinals, which is where i think he'll end up (poor guy)....he will have no luck with Arizona....they are just terrible everywhere.

Personally id love to stink up our seasons for another 2 years so we can draft Brian Brohm....Brohm is AMAZING.

but they dont. nobody is going to just be giving the Saints a first rounder now. Parcells got a first from the Bills to move up for Losman, but that happened during the draft.

I'm sorry, but your "what-if" carries no weight considering that the draft is over, and nobody is just going to be throwing another pick at NO.

its like saying right now, "what if" Miami had 2 firsts, which isnt the case and wont happen

im sorry to hear u dont like to "imagine" and dont like to "just think about if this happened"....ok so, the Saints have the #12 pick...they make some trade with...hmm...Tennessee for their number #6 pick...what the trade is, i dont know and i dont care.....its just imagination. The Saints offer us both those picks for our #3.....THERE.

Yeah, I dont see any team throwing any first rounders at any other team between now and the draft. Oakland gave Minnesota a first rounder for Randy Moss, but I dont see another player of that caliber being traded again this year. The only scenerio I could see is Green Bay trading Aaron Rodgers (with the assumption that they are high on Lienart and have a top 3 pick). If they let him play this year, and he does well, someone might be able to give up a first rounder for him. But as it stands now, and they keep him on the bench all year- I dont think that even Rodgers will bring in a first rounder.

oh, so Minnesota has 2, 1st rounders??? Okay lets says MINNESOTA trades us those for our #3 pick....u know Minny could use a QB.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy to your thread, I just figure for a trade to make sense, it has to be based in reality, and right now, Denver doesnt even have enough ammo to potentially move up to our pick.
