What would you guys do? Who would you draft(for arguments sake lets say we pick around 15), get in FA, cut, re-sign,etc. I think that I would go really hard at signing Nate Clements. I would give him a lot. I would also try to get a LT. I dont know who but i would get a top notch LT. In the draft i would get Brady Quinn if he was still there and decided to leave school. If he wasnt there and there were no Qb's good enough at that spot, i would get the Mathais Kiwanuka or I would get Ngiata(sp?) In round two i would get a qb or maybe try to trade for Phillip Rivers. I would ask Madison to restructure and cut Howard. Thats what i would do, what about you?

A) Clements will be franchised and a deal worked out or else traded.
B) No such thing as a great LT hitting free agency.
C) Quinn's not likely to declare as he'll be a top 5 pick or the #1 pick next year after another year at ND.
D) Rivers will cost a minimum of a first round pick + additional picks/players.
E) Madison already restructured last year. Would be hard to get him to restructure again.

1st rnd: qb. pinneger, maybe jacobs. but id prefer quinn

2nd rnd: safety. whoever. but id love to see saban get landry, though doubtful hell be there at that time.

3rd rnd: lb. doubtful hawk, hodge, greenway or the other elites are there in the 3rd. but saban did pick up crowder in the 3rd. we could maybe get ourselves another steal.

4th:
5th:
6th:
etc o line

Free Agency: julian petersen maybe clements but only if he comes with his head right

what would i do?

1st-cuts, seau,zgonina,howard
2nd-free agents, kitna, reggie wayne, bentley(if avaliable),and a decent corner, maybe clements or azuhma
3rd-draft, 1st-jimmy williams 2nd-cutler 3rd-best d-tackle aval
4th-fire linehan

hmm....1st - Cut - Howard, moore, boston, and ask Madison to take a pay cut or he gets traded for anything or include him to complete a trade.
2nd - FA - Peterson, bentley, hutchingson, Will Allen, and Chavous - i doubt we can afford more along with kitna if available or if we can afford more which we prob. can, we wont use it up all as mueller didn't use all of it in NO.
3rd - Draft - 1st either Leinart (trade 1st this year, 2nd next year, and include RW/Madison/depending whcih team would need which one or trade another pick i guess which i woudlnt want to do then we can pick up a pick by trading Madison or someone of his nature. OR if not trade for Leinart, AJ Hawk/Greenway/Scott/J. Williams/or Ngata for the 1st rd OR third option, Trade that 1st if none of the top players are there worth the pick and trade it for more picks.
2nd - Cutler or with the trade of our 1st for a mid 1st pick up Cutler or Pinegar. 3rd - another gapping hole we dont have depending on how FA went. 4th adn beyond same **** as before, more holes to fill.

1st - Cuts (Howard, Seau, McDougle, Minor, Boston)
2nd - F.A. (Reggie Wayne or Charles Woodson, whoever comes first)
3rd - Draft 1st - Jimmy Williams
2nd - A.J. Nicholson
3rd - Charlie Whitehurst

Ok for those that posted prior, McDougal and Boston are on 1 year deals and thus cant be cut next year!

My List
Not resigned- McDougal, Minor, and Boston
Resign- Lance Shulters, Seth McKinney, Brian Gilmore and Keith Traylor.
Restructure- Junior Seau and Sam Madison
Cuts- Reggie Howard, Eddie Moore(if he isnt a FA)

Draft- If we are picking early enough for Ngata its a no brainer (the guy is a 345lb NT that runs a 4.85 40), second round if some of these Juniors declare this is where we should get a QB(Jay Cutler, Drew Stanton). In the 3rd and 4th we need a DB and a LB.

FA- You have to make the biggest runs at Lecharles Bentley and Steve Hutchinson. Reggie Wayne will want number one money even though he has never put up number one numbers. Maybe Kitna if the price is right, anything to get rid of Gus!

Round 1: Ngata, Huff, or Landry (assuming Jimmy Williams will be gone at 15)
Round 2: There's a great center but I can't remember his name. Maybe Cutler here.
FA: Make a run at Reggie Wayne or any outstanding young corners that may be out there
Cuts: Howard is really the only starter (or semi-starter) that comes to mind as beng horrible. Perhaps Seth McKinney, though he's had a decent year.

1. sign either brees if he is let go by san diego (don't trade picks for rivers a 3 year rookie gaining rust with no experience), or carr if houston lets him go. cutler in a later round would be the 3rd option.

2. restructure or cut madison depending on his cap hit, with the improvement of daniels and poole coming back next year, madison is probably the odd man out anyway.

3. don't resign boston, either through free agency or the draft, a playmaker at WR is needed (maurice stovall from ND is 6'5 215 and probably the best blocking wr in college maybe available 3rd or 4th round)

4. a top OL through the draft or free agency
