If you were in a position to change some things given whats currently avail. no mircale trades, what would you change to fix the level of play and attitude on the crurrent 53.

Keep these ideas in terms of using what we really have... our players and coaches right now.

Could be coaching philisophy, lineup moves, ect.

Could it be the Long,Pouncey,Incognito,Carey,Garner experiment.

Could it be try a no huddle approach in the red zone to see if that sparks some points.

Could it be more plays with DT and Bush in the backfield to create mismatches.

Could it be Tony just saying **** it, we wont kick a FG inside the red zone any longer and put it all on the O.

Could it be a players only meeting.

Could it be a Fan/Team home game challenge... sell out the game and if Fins dont win 50% off.

Could it be a defense with last years kick *** mentality, not this unmotivated group.

Fire away guys, maybe a few ideas could help these boys to get going.

Move Carey to RT, with Garner as his immediate backup. Bench Colombo, move Jerry at RG.

The D will fix itself through time. The offense's main woes are in the OL.

First would be the line you used. Maybe Jerry are RG instead of Carey.
Move Jones to SS put Bell on the bench and have Clemons at FS.
Use one back set with Bush and put in montion to empty backfield and spread them out.

I like the previous suggestions of putting Jerry at RG and move Carey back to RT. One other thing I would try to do is mix up the defensive scheme to include some 4-3 looks. The reason for this would be to get more of our better players on the field at the same time. For example, in the 4-3 looks have Wake and Langford at DE with Starks and Odrick at DT. Then have Dansby at MLB, Mitchell and Burnett at OLB. Those guys together would be fast and athletic, hopefully making more plays. Then have Davis and Smith at CB while Jones is at SS and Clemons at FS.

This "program" needs a purge and splurge approach.
Fire the Head Coach now bring in an intern or hire a coach Midseason. Let this Head Coach do whatever he wants with the roster this season. Tinker it as you like it does not matter at this point.
Then this offseson, get rid of the majority of your roster. Dont care who it is, Bye bye Dansby, Bye Bye Marshall.
Only keep what you have to and.....

Start over and start your roster priority at your QB From there everything else will fall in place piece by piece.

Chubbs

First I would bench any player that is not playing with good effort. I would bench Chad Henne and put in Matt Moore. I would put Fasano in on every play and have him help with Columbo and do whatever I could to give my qb time..Even Max protect if nessesary. I would run the ball more to protect my sluggish defense. I would move Wake to the weak side and line up Jared oddrick or starks next to him every play..I would play a base 43 over/ under d. I would attack more with my strong saftey Bell. I would insert Clemons back into a starting role..Reggie Bush would get more time as a slot rec'.

I like all your ideas.

Are you available for immediate employment?

Coaches need to start holding players accountable, and stop enabling players to fail.

There is no reason Columbo shouldn't be dismissed from this team, a la Bobby Carpenter and Benny Sapp. Gardner can step up, or Carey can slide back out to OT.

Reshad Jones thinks he's a LB, and coaches haven't reminded him that he is a FS, and he needs to stay the **** back. Nobody should be between him and the endzone. He's been out of position or beat in 3 games in a row, and he needs to be benched imo. Not permanently, but just to show him his performance is unacceptable.

Get Clyde Gates out of the return games. He's running scared and it shows. We have capable people that can return. Even Nolan Carroll was better than him last year. Bush and Hartline have also returned kicks before, in college or pro, and niether are getting enough action to where a KR would hurt their offensive performances.

Theres so much more, but I would be here all day...

Without any fantastic or drastic moves this is what I would do or have done prior to the beginning of the season.

1. O LINE, I would have left Carey at RT he has been there for years and know his position and help scenarios. He has rated well and that did not need to be messed with. I would have explored all of the FA, including the ones cut and brought in a couple of veterans like Ohara, Gurdoe or Waters. John Jerry would have been cut!

2. RB I would use more of DT and RB in the backfield at the same time and slip one into the slot through motion 50% of the time to keep the defense unsure if they need to sub an extra DB or not. If it is 3 yards or less to goal I would run the ball 4 times period.

3. WR I would only throw the jump ball to BM, I would teach the receivers to get beyond the first down marker, I would line up in a 3-4 WR set to keep the field spread in goal to go situations (like the Patriots).

4 D Line I don't know why we kept so many D Linemen (9 for three spots) I would put the best three out there on Run situations and the best pass rushers out there on Pass situations. I would never Rush 3 and Pass blitz 40% of the time like on first down against passing teams to try and get a sack to push them back.

5. LB I would spend more time with the LB group and create schemes to cover the crossing route and tight ends (it appears that we do not have a defense for this)

6. DB I would have gotten a veteran safety who know how to cover over the top and teach these kids how to do it. I would play more press coverage against timing teams like the Pats and Houston.

7. QB I would have brought in a guy like Hasslebeck in to continue to mentor Henne. I didn't like any of the QB's in this years draft. I would spend 30 minutes a day in goal to go practice situations to get Henne and BM on the same page.

8. I would never try to run clock to get a 6 point lead when a touchdown could beat you.

Thats it. 2-1 for sure.

Not a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't even fire TS, I'd let him hang himself tell he resigned. This is the year of all years to win 1 to 3 games. Then bring in a real GM and HC to go though the roster and cut the dead weight, and put a winner on the field.

If you wore the shoes...

I'd put these shoes on and start kicking players in their azzes
