That the dolphins would be having this kind of success, do you think he would have stuck around? I mean we kinda let him go to Dallas because we wanted to clean house and for him to have a shot at the big game. The way things are looking however is that his chances (and no, i'm not saying we will this year) would have been better staying with us rather than being in Dallas.

I for one am a HUGE Zach fan and i've watched him since his rookie year here under J.J.

I dont think anyone would have anticipated this kind of success at this point in our season.

This post was inspired by what i saw in another one of my threads, somone saying (and i dont know how accurate this is but it got me to thinking) that we would be 7-2 with Zach here. Maybe not quite but i know for a fact that he would be a huge presence.

I'm not sad about Crowder but frankly i'm not crazy about him either. That guy needs to work on his over-pursuit of ball carriers. Plus Zach's coverage skills were amazing so this whole thing has got me wondering.

So you guys think he's got any regrets?

Watching some of the Dallas games it's alittle obvious his skills are declining. Who doesn't love Zach but you can't hang on to everyone forever, besides he doesn't fit the bill for a 3/4 LB that BP likes.

Yeah i know. "Parcell's Guys." I think that paradigm is stupid but apparantly it works when he's in town, so i'm not going to critisize the genius in charge.

It was not an issue of sticking around. He was not wanted by the new regime. Dallas signed as a Free Agent him after he was courted by the Boys, Pats and Saints.

He was going whether we were winning or not. We can't rebuild a Defensive front on an guy about to retire.

I Love Zach but the team had to move on, it sucks, but it had to happen.

Yeah Zach Thomas doesn't fit in Bill Parcells Miami Dolphins 3-4 defense but he starts in the Dallas 3-4 defense.

Greg Ellis made some pretty interesting statements about Roy Williams during an appearance on Sirius NFL Radio this afternoon.

Ellis said that Williams doesn't feel like he fits in Wade Phillips' scheme and has been isolating himself from teammates.

Ellis said Williams first expressed concerns about the Phillips 3-4 during training camp

I have been hearing that excuse since Zach was released but Zach starts in Dallas in a 3-4.

Look at our linebacks: Joey Porter 6'3 255, Ayodel 6'0 250, Crowder 6'2 250, Roth 275 but Zach is 5'10 220. Everyone loves zach and he'll be one of the best dolphins to ever play but you can put the best LB in a 4-3 then put him in a 3-4 and you wont be the same just ask Joey Poter. His skill is declining he makes too much money and hes in his 13th season so im glad were building for a bigger faster younger team.

Zach always will be one of my favorites but there is more to it then just his declining skils. Salary cap, age, recurring migraines, etc. Not as simple as he can't play here but he can in Dallas.

Say whatever you want to say...we could have used Zach in a couple of these games we lost. We had the money and still do and he starts in Dallas's 3-4. Zach weight is normally around 230-240.

His skills are not declining. Dallas defensive skills are declining. I dont miss JT, but i do miss our hard nose Middle Linebacker who stuffed the middle quite often.

If you watch dallas you will see Zack is a luxury to them..
He plays 1st and some 2nd downs
does not get thrown in coverage very often..
as a rebuilding team we can not afford to pay someone star money who only sees the field on running plays.

Dude. You are aware that we RELEASED Zach Thomas. Its not as if he had a choice in the matter to stay. WE FIRED HIM. We DID NOT try to resign him.

And we didnt let him go to Dallas because we wanted to clean house. We let him go to Dallas because he is washed up. Well we didnt let him go to Dallas persay. They signed him. He was free to go wherever he wanted that was willing to sign him. BP basically told him "Dude, you aint gotta go home, but you gotta get the **** up outta here."

We let him go because he was making way too much money for what he was worth. We let him go because he was a HUGE injury RISK. We let him go because he missed almost every game last year with a headache. He didnt even take the team flight to the game vs. our arch rivals because of a headache. We let him go because we just didnt need him.

I was a huge ZT myself back in the day. I dont even wear jerseys, yet I have his. I only have 3 btw. But, you guys seriously need to get over this dude. It wasnt a huge loss for us.
