If zach and JT restructure do u think we would have enough room to sign ashworth, peterson, and beasley?

i don't think theres enough money in the world to allow us to have Peterson...but the other two yes.

I hope they don't restructure.......

Restructuring players is like putting expensive items you can't afford on your credit card.....all you are doing is taking salary cap room from future years.

Say JT has a 6 million dollar base salary in 2006, so he restuctures and we turn 5 million into a signing bonus......we save money this year.....but now EVERY other remaining year of his contract has additional money on it. So we just borrowed from the future.

I am glad to see that they haven't proceeded with these restructurings.......and I don't want them to unless they are absolutely necessary.

We can certainly afford all three with restructuring and how the cap will increase over the next few years.

if possible, all 3 players would be great additions IMO...

The only problem with restructuring contracts is that eventually the cap hit comes. Restructuring reduces cap hits this year and moves them to later years in the contract. It really mortgages the future, cap wise. Imagine a $15-20 million cap hit on JT next year.

I agree. I think there is a time when you essentially go for it all and work to restructure players to get more talent on the team. But you've got to be so careful because it can catch up to you in a big way. San Francisco and Tennessee are examples of that and Washington will eventually have big time cap problems as well.

If we get Ashworth I will be happy but if we manage to get Peterson and Beasley also this team would be looking like contenders on paper.
