Ike Taylor CB Pittsburgh Steelers

He may get released by Pitt for cap reasons and ready to reinvent their DB's.

Since he is best friends with Wallace, I thought it might be good to get him in here on a one year deal like Grimes last year. He is still good IMO but on the downside of carreer but that doesnt mean he cant still play at a high level.

Thoughts?
I welcome all Taylor's.....

EDIT: que the Jamar 'Taylor' hitmen

I like that. He is probably about equivalent to Nolan if we lose him

I would pick Carol over Taylor 8 days a week. At one point past mid season last year, he ranked in the hundreds for overall CB production. He is trash, at least at this point in his career.

+1

Definately overrated. Someone will overpay for him, though.

I dont think he will get big money, just some decent gaurrantee money but that can be worked out so its not a huge deal.

I myself would rather give Carroll better money but not starting money and somewhere in between that is respectable. I would like to keep all our CB's provded Patterson cuts his money in half for us otherwise we might need that money to keep Carroll or get someone else. I am not very keen on relying Taylor or Davis in year 2 with little PT from last year but having 5 CB's again would be awesome because you can never have enough.

I think Carroll is going to be gone though. Pick your poison.

How did carroll become so valuable? will somebody please expound on this dramatic turn of events

Report: Vikings interested in Nolan Carroll

Teams have to wait a few more days before they can talk to prospective free agent targets directly, but that doesn’t mean that prospective interest will remain hidden.

Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports that the Vikings are expected to take a “strong look” at cornerback Nolan Carroll in free agency. Carroll’s contract with the Dolphins is expiring and Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the expectation is that he’ll be hitting the open market despite the Dolphins’ interest in bringing him back.

That’s code for the Dolphins’ offer not being high enough for Carroll to forsake a shot to see what the market will offer. He’s started 22 games in the last two seasons and is presumably looking for a salary that befits a starting role in the future.

Minnesota’s secondary was problematic all of last season. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes and safety Harrison Smith should have prominent roles, but the other spots are less certain as the offseason gets rolling.

Sad that we still talk about this after drafting 2 guys high in last years draft. I'm still sick to my stomachs about last year.

Good call.

That hit is not legal anymore, but I love CBs that are willing to make tackles. Everyone should.

Funny enough, I think Pat White may have gotten the flag for using the crown of his helmet to deliver a forcible (debatable) blow to a defender being outside the tackle box and 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

A flag for roughness on the ball carrier? Where have I heard this before?
