I hate the "let's sign this guy" threads as much as anyone, but this is a genuine question. Is this guy any good? Looks like he had a pretty decent season in 2007, but he lost his starting job to Dobbins last season.

Is he any better than our current ILB depth?

Gotta say....On first blush, I would not object to signing this guy. He's no world beater, but I would venture a more solid backup than torbor.

I had high hopes for Torbor, he looked like a very active MLB to me. But he doesn't seem to have a very good feel for the position, he's not frequently enough in the right place at the right time.

Kind of a segway, but the Broncos trading a 1st to get Alphonso Smith in the 2nd rd when ILB Maualuga was on the board- I don't know about that one.

Well, I will tell you this; Willehlm has been three times the ILB torbor has. The more I look at it, the more I like this. I think we need to get aggressive and get the guy. I don't think he'll be an FA for long.

I'd definitely pick him up. Depth isn't a bad thing, and we're one injury away from starting Reggie f'ing Torbor inside.

28 years old, 6'4 245 lbs and he had 97 tackles, 3 picks and a fumble recovery in 2007.

He's only 28 I think, so that's a good thing. I confess toknowing nothing about Wilhelm, but if he's there for the taking and better than Torbor, why not get him, I agree.

IMO i would rather have him then Akin
akin is no game changer but he doesnt make mistakes and thats good enough if we get another ILB it should be from the draft so bp can groom him, if not very familiar with weilheim but if we can get him at a nice price than id take him we have no quality depth behind crowder and akin.

Camp is about competition, if we could get him cheap I am all for it. Put him out there and if Tobor beat him out so be it but if not we upgraded. It's a win win if ya ask me.

Torbor is a ST guy and nothing more. He's awful at ILB. We've got NOTHING....NOTHING at ILB should AA or CC go down. This guy would be a gift if we can get him. He'll beat out Torbor without a second glance.

AA is solid, and, very good in coverage. CC is also solid, though less good in coverage. Wilhelm could com in nad back either up competantly.

People don't realize how fortunate we were to be so healthy at ILB last year.
