I'll say it....Hickey has really impressed me so far.

Yeah, he may have overpaid for a LT but that was what the market dictated for him. If that is what it takes to protected our franchise QB, than I will deal with it. Hickey secured our number 1 corner back, rebuilt our DT unit (while making it alittle younger), and he secured a decent safety. Not to mention we still have upward of 29 million left in cap space. We have a long way to go, but Hickey is doing well so far.
 
I really don't see how you can be all that impressed about any anything Hickey has done until the results manifest themselves next December. It's not like the core of the team has dramatically changed.

All we did so far was swap Soliai with Earl Mitchell, who is a natural three tech in a 4-3 front. And signed Delmas to replace Clemons.

Bringing back Grimes and Starks to team friendly deals was cool, but they were already here *shrugs*.
 
I would agree. Getting critical deals done and solved our number one need (LT) right at the beginning of free agency.

Still a long way to go, but definitely off to a good start.
 
Hickey has kept two of our best players at extremely good deals, filled some key holes, and all while our team image is at an all time low. To those not impressed: what were you expecting, exactly?
 
We will know in december if this was another grab up everything we can without going anywhere.Or if we realy made the right moves to make us a contender.But i do wish much success to hickey.
 
I'm onboard the Hickey train. He's done good work so far. The real key is the drafting of young talent though. That has been our real problem over the last 10 years.
 
What he does in the upcoming days will be telling of how good Hickey is at his job.

Good point! The draft will be very telling in evaluating Mr. Hickey.
 
He's done ok so far but I'm worry about not getting a 2nd olineman as they're going fast. But like others have said, the draft will be very telling.
