He is quite simply one of us.

All other candidates are as much of a crap shoot for our organization as Shula. Give him a couple of years to turn this around or fall on his face.

Bring Don Strock - Tony Nathan - Dan Marino - back into the fold as much as possible.

I can live with falling on our collective faces - IF - WH puts forth a concerted effort to use our illustrious championship past to create an opportunity to recapture the Dolphin's magic.

Your argument for Shula is that he's one of us?

Wow, that gets me excited.

He's not "just as much a crapshoot" as Gailey or Mora.
Not that I'm enamored with either BUT they are far more qualified than Shula is. He has done nothing special anywhere he's been and in any position he's been in.

Your next idea is to bring back Marino (which they already tried to do and it didn't work), Strock who was let go from FIU and Tony Nathan who god knows where he is.
So ex players are guaranteed coaches in your book?

Give me a break, it's a freak show in here.

Hay I heard this guys name before he's probabaly qualified to run a football team!

Are you serious??? It's sounds very Disney.

I wouldn't mind seeing Danny involved as a QB coach or something, but it ain't gonna happen.

Maybe thats why they resigned Capers and paid him as much as they did. Seems to me that Shula is coming to town and Capers and staff are there to help him out.

I don't care if who we hire has previous ties or not, I just want them to come here and win. Take us to the playoff's and get us back to respectibility again.

Re:

wow feel free to elaborate, genious.

Your argument is ridiculous on its face, you propose hiring the guy because he is "one of us". No mention of his competence, or qualifications. No mention of his dreadful record as an NFL OC, or his inability to beat even bad teams at Alabama. "One of us" is not a substantive argument. If you want to see where these "one of us" arguments get you, look at the college ranks where schools hire alumni to do jobs they're not capable of doing simply because they were "one of us". Alabama did that with Shula, and a couple of other coaches, and look where it got them.

10-2 during sanction yrs is pretty impressive.

But I honestly can't say either way because I do not know enough about the guy.

I do remember him predicting Bama having a down year but I also remember him being optimistic about this coming year. He got a bad rap up there and may have taken some bad advice in regards to running the offense.

A 177 year old Don Shula shot up with re-animation fluid is better than Mike Shula.

Have to say, I've always loved your sig.

Don Shula's bust in Canton can is a better canidate than Mike.... If Mike goes somewhere and actually has sucess, come back and talk to us....Until then.....next please!
