I'm disappointed in the team, but more disappointed in the fans

sorry I'm disappointing you buddy. I'm a lifer. so there's that. been here since the beginning.

my wifey of 15yrs has never seen me happy about my team.

my kids (14/12) have never seen their dad celebrate a season/post season/playoff run.

yeah... I suck.

The NFL is a win now league and this rebuilding thing is a myth. This team has been seemingly rebuilding for the past decade, meanwhile teams like the Falcons and 49ers have completely passed us after hiring the RIGHT people.

Great post. The OP talks about patience. When was the last time we made the playoffs? 2008. When was the last time we WON a playoff game?? 2000!!! Hell I think thats being pretty patient! The Chiefs won 2 games last year. They hire Andy Reid and are undefeated this year. Thats what I call a turnaround!

I cant tell if the OP is trolling or what. Funny that when I heard the PATS FANS boo their uber awesome team at HOME I thought of people like the OP here saying Miami fans are bad and yet when other teams fans do the same damn things they get the pass. Fans are the issue in Miami...yeah get real.

Amen bro. We haven't won a playoff game since Bill Clinton was in office...but hey...patience! Rebuild! They'll eventually turn it around!

My sentiments exactly. My poor daughters (10 & 13) are Dolphins fans because Dad is. We've never been able to celebrate anything more than the occasional win. They have no idea what it's like to have their team make a post-season run and/or be a real contender.

At the current pace we've set to 'rebuild', Dad will be long gone before the team gives them reason to celebrate. I'm only 35.

i dissapoint people all the time it doesn't even bother me any more. Why would you blaim fans. I garuntee there wasn't a single nfl fan that cuaght a pas, gasined a yard, or made a tackle for any of the 32 teams today.

Suck for Luck! Don't hate me but Dolphins ****ed up for not tanking for Andrew Luck. I'm not hating on Tannehill, he's decent but he'll never be a superstar QB like Andrew Luck.

Patience. Haha. How long are we supposed to wait? I see other franchises rise and fall and rise again while Miami plods along at 6-8 wins a yr. I am beyond frustrated. Indy went 1-15 and are now a lock for the playoffs for the next decade. Seattle was a joke and they are now a powerhouse. San Fran was on a similar trajectory as Miami in the last decade but they wised up and are now battling for superbowls. Miami has an incompetent GM, a head coach way over his head and a highly drafted QB who is total garbage.

I get tired of this talk of '2 year plan' '3 year plan,' etc. Just look at how many teams have turned it around before us. Only communists have these [insert number here] year plan.

I really wonder how old some Dolfans on here are. I have now almost 30 years of frustration. As a matter of fact this February it will be 29 years since we went the last time to the Superbowl. Most of you weren't even born then. And this January it will be 21 years since our last AFC Championship game. The last time we were allowed to sniff at a Superbowl game. That is frustration.

Even the Marino years were frustrating. Good for the playoffs but never good enough to win a Superbowl. I think there is only a handful of people on here who really understand what frustration is. The fans of the Miami Dolphins went through plenty over the last 3 decades to have the right to bitch and moan and not to go to the games anymore. I am a season ticket holder for over 30 years. Before that my dad had season tickets. But this might be my last year. I have better things to do with my money.

It is ironic that the only ones who really bitch about the attendance are either out-of-towners or locals who don't go. When I go, and some of the people around me are in the same seats for 10, 15 years, we hardly complain about attendance. As a matter of fact we question our own sanity why we take this crap year-in and year-out and game by game.

I've been a fan since 1982...before Marino. The '84 season was magic. Basically, the AFC playoffs in 1984 were the only truly enjoyable time for me as a Dolphins fan. Loved a few other playoffs wins, like the comeback win over the Chiefs after the '90 season and the comeback win against the Browns after the '85 season. But much of Marino's career, while it was exciting, was heartbreak. You knew the Dolphins had a chance to win every week just because of Marino, but they could never get over the hump and spent years being dominated by the Bills. Since Marino retired, forget it. This team has been a joke. Failed coaches, horrible decisions repeatedly on the QB position, embarrassing draft results. Nothing that we are watching today tells me that this team is headed in the right direction. We can't exist with a coach with training wheels. Philbin did not deserve this job. He didn't earn it. I doubt that players respect his resume. His regime is going to be a failed experiment. I hope that Ross sees this already and is preparing to fire Philbin, his staff, and Ireland.

Hey look, i am not someone who comes here every year to say the sky is falling. I am not a fair weather fan.
I grew up in south florida, in the south, football is king. My teen years i was lucky to experience Shula and Marino. I was born the year after the Fins won their last championship, i am not young.
That said, i am over it. We never won a championship any of the years i have been a fan, but we had class. The dolphins were a proud franchise, now we are a joke. Its groundhogs day every year. Same mistakes, same problems.
The Jimmy Johnson, Wannstedt years were the glory years for some fans! This is pathetic because i am sure the posters on the SAS forums could run this franchise better, i am not even joking. We are the lions, the cardinals, the NEW AINTS!
I could sit here and maybe post about Dolphins Football for fun, but its completely counterproductive. Fins football is DEAD!

Call me when it comes back but don't chastise me for being a hater.

I know right? Its not like Ireland was hired as general manager before John Harbaugh was hired by the Ravens.

Learn-2-patience people, geez. We are only 4 more first round picks away from the offensive line being fixed. Just give it time.

:chuckle:

Bingo. Most season ticket holders don't give up their tickets because they are 'fair weather' fans. They give it up because they keep paying money to get kicked in the balls year after year.
