I'm Done With This Regime. For Serious.

You guys really dont get it, do you? Its not that we lost. Its that we have had the same glaring issues all offseason and in some cases even longer and our FO is retarded and ignores it until it is exposed on national TV. They have made a ton of mistakes this offseason that lead to us fielding a team thats not as good as it could have been. Tell me Im wrong and explain why. Im all ears.

ur not wrong. ur correct. i get it. i feel the same way. i actually enjoyed the game for once. i was very happy to see sparano actually try to win a game. he went for it on 4th down. although he got soft later and settled for a field goal when it was clear that would mean they wouldnt win the game. lots of good things to take from this game, and there is talent on this roster.

if this was year one sparano/ireland id say we were in really great shape, there would be plenty of optimism. even if we start 0-4. but thats not the case, and they do continue to make some incredibly dumb roster choices year in and year out. they destroyed our return game right from the start by first not giving ginn a chance to be a returner, then by giving him away so nolan carroll can return kicks. joke. they churned the bottom of the roster with such poor results they destroyed the rest of our special teams at the beginning of last year, and this year they didnt put together the best 53 players they could for new england. not even the best 53 they had in camp. for a game theoretically that they can afford to lose. but realistically one they must win in order to goto the playoffs. they lost, and its not all on the players. we didnt have enough talent in the secondary, and we werent prepared to beat that team. we had to outcoach them and match up better, because they have brady, and we didnt.

I dont see the talent youre seeing.

We have an elite WR. Our starting TE is average. Our depth is nothing special at TE. Our complimentary WRs are nothing to complain about, but they arent great players either. Our OL is attrotious. We are starting complete garbage at RT. We have no quality depth on the OL. Our QB is coming off 2 bad seasons in a row. He has looked good in the preseason this year and played well for like the 5th game in his career last night. Our RBs are a 3rd down back and a completely unproven rookie who didnt even see the field last night due to injury. Our defense ranked well last season statistically, but as I pointed out didnt face many strong offenses last season. Against a top notch offense like NE, they were destroyed. We still have a very average or worse secondary, a good DL with solid depth, and a good group of LBs but not much depth there. We have no return men aside from the 3rd down back we are using as an every down RB, but not returning kicks. We do have a good FG kicker though. And our coaching staff is a ****ing joke.

Combine all of that with the fact that 2 of the best teams in the conference are in our division and the fact that we are already 0-1 in division play, with 2 left at home and 3 on the road, I dont see how you are figuring on us making the playoffs at this point. Sure, its certainly possible. Were only 1 week in and a lot can happen. Its the NFL. But, I just dont get how you are so confident we are going to the playoffs.

ouch. sad thing is this is an extremely accurate overview. might have missed one key point tho. that defense that rated so high also consistently failed to cause turnovers.

The Miami Dolphins are far removed from glory. We fans talk like this is still one of the best organizations not only in the NFL, but in professional sports. That's not the case anymore. The team still have a valued brand, but even that is fading. We haven't won a Super Bowl since before Watergate. We haven't even been to a Super Bowl for a quarter century. Think about that. The average person lives to be about 75 in the U.S.. If you were born the year we last appeared in a Super Bowl you're life is a third over and you've never seen this franchise in the Big One. We're all just living on nostalgia now. Like remembering old friends long departed. The Bucs, Saints and Rams, 3 of the most incompetently run sports franchises, ever, have won Super Bowls since we last did. 24 different franchises have been to Super Bowls since we last went and 3 of the teams that haven't been were expansion teams. Some fans lose sight of just how consistently mediocre or bad this franchise has been. I personally don't see the utility of trying to convince myself or anyone else that it's just one bad game. It's just another game emblematic of a decades long problem.

Ownership is everything in sports. Coaches and front offices come and go, but those teams that have top-flight ownership have a chance every year and we just do not have good ownership. It's not a recent phenomenon either. Huizenga, for all of his willingness to spend, was a star****er, a man that could not see anything but a name. There is something to be said about patience, but it's a pretty hard and fast rule that if a coach or general manager hasn't shown consistent improvement from years one to two to three, it's not happening. By year 3 you pretty much know if the guy is going to do something. Billick won the Super Bowl in his 2d year. Vermeil in his 3d. Belichick in his 2d. Shanahan in his 3d. Tomlin in his 2d. Shula in his 3d. Gruden in his 1st. Lovie Smith got to a Super Bowl in his 3d year. Whisenhunt in his 2d. Caldwell in his 1st. Johnson and Parcells won Super Bowls in their 4th years, but even when a guy wins it in his 4th or 5th year, you generally see year to year improvement. Rarely do you see a guy like Sean Payton or Tom Coughlin who sticks with a team for 5-years or more with ups and downs, only to finally break through. Those are aberrations. If you're not starting to see light at the end of the tunnel by the end of year 2, definitely by 3, you're not likely to ever see it. I don't understand those who say you must persevere with a guy. Perseverance rarely pays off when it comes to coaches and GMs people have little faith in. I was mystified by those who actually wanted to retain Sparano, as if a breakthrough was imminent.

As inept as Huizenga was, Ross has already demonstrated he is infinitely worse. I question whether or not this guy really wants to win. I'm not convinced the guy is even a diehard sports fan. He looks eerily like Red McCombs, former owner of the Vikings, to me. Just a guy who bought an asset hoping to flip it quickly. Only Ross wasn't counting on an epic financial meltdown to change the economic landscape in the country, maybe forever. He made his fortune in real estate and real estate, residential and commercial, is in death spiral. What could be really scary is that Ross may not even have the resources to improve the team, even if he was competent enough to hire a top-flight front office and coach. Good thing we've got the Heat, because we have no reason to believe the team will not continue to be as bad, if not worse than it has been for the last few decades.

"5. Solid conditioning out there. Definitely inspired my confidence in the coaching when players are out there cramping so hardcore that they can barely bother to touch a player rolling into the endzone. That was awesome. Pretty cool how our entire defense is using up the worlds supply of oxygen tanks. Im pretty sure they caused at least one person with emphysema to die. Theres no way we didnt significantly lower the world supply of those tanks last night. Nice job Sparano. Nice job S&C coach. Props to you guys."

Funniest post I have read since I have been on this forum. +100

heres is the difference, Wanny and previous regimes couldn't draft for **** period, these guys draft nothign but LINEMEN therefore talent everywhere else is beyond thin and depth is pathetic along with those linemen they draft are all busts.

So basically they are not only wasting picks on busts at other positions but on linemen as well.

Yea. I will be watching every week. I cant help it. I told people last night how I wished I could turn the TV off before it hit :00, but I cant. Not sure what that has to do with this regime sucking though TBH.
I know exactly what you mean.I cant help but watch the very team I'd bleed for, only to be doubting them every step of the way.

It's not healthy,imo

everyone with eyes knew........ but you waited until after the game to throw one of your hissy fits, ofcourse.
im done with these knee jerk, crybaby, captain hindsight fans. pathetic. Thats the problem with todays world, grown men acting like little girls.

Welcome to the dark side.

This regime ends after this year.

Year 4 and we STILL have so many god damn holes on this team.

We are regressing.

Way to counter his arguments. Well thought out.

If he did have arguments he would have presented them...

They have nothing...Except BLIND FAITH.

Besides John Jerry (who was drafted in the 3rd round last year), what other linemen that are bust are you talking about? Is it Long or Pouncey?

Maybe you are talking about Andrew Gardner, or Shawn Murphy and Donald Thomas. If so, what do you really expect to get out of a 4th and a couple of 6th round picks?
