Because surely they are going to blow up the FO, Coaches and Roster.

This is what is going to happen right ? I'd rather take a couple bad years to build a contender for years to come.

Well be lucky to replace Tannehill. Wish they would blow it up but this is the Dolphins were talking about.

I'll give Ross credit where it is due. He is loyal to his staff.

And the 3-0 Dolphins were surely going to make the playoffs too. Surely! Er, surely?

Our Yards Per Point Differential was bizarre and unsustainably high at that point. I don't remember the exact number but it was something like +8.7 and second in the league behind the Rams. I remember posting that it was certain to freefall and that in most seasons the league leader is below 5.0

Well, the Dolphins are now a very normal +0.4 and the league leader is +4.5

That +0.4 is not bad especially in contrast to our final opponent the Bills, who are last in the league at -6.8

That basically means the Bills have to gain lots of yardage for every point they score, and opponents are scoring more points than typical given how many yards they gain. Terrible combination. It points to an underachieving team.

The final two games should have set up perfect for us, since Jacksonville is second to last in the league in offensive Yards Per Point and the Bills are absolute last.

This is the link to Yards Per Point Margin (or Differential):

I bet Tannenbaum get's the axe and Marino is figurehead (similar to what he was for a few weeks years ago). Grier and Gase will be safe and get a new DC.

Surely is not a word I can personally place with the Dolphins. Hiring Marino does not cancel out keeping Gase if that's the plan. Ross may want to keep his staff, but he needs to concerned with keeping his fans.

I'm gonna guess you haven't been around for too many Dolphins rebuilds.

Easy with your force chokes Vader, Ross have never blown the entire FO.

Marino will never take a high profile job with the Miami Dolphins where he becomes the face of the franchise ala Elway. Marino is not going to do press conferences. I just don't see it. Ross wants to use Marino to make the fans feel better. If he wants to do that he needs to craft a job for Marino commensurate with the amount of work he's willing to put in at this stage of the game. I suspect it's not a ton and I don't really blame him. Let him help us find a new QB because that has to happen asap and let him be maybe work with the QB's like he's done in the past. Marino doesn't have the chops to be a GM, it would take him a long time to get up to speed, if ever. Tannenbaum, although not a football guy, is a wizard with numbers and contracts. That's what first got him recognized by the NFL.
