As a longtime questioner of Burke's defense, I come in here and say "Good job Sir!"

I do know we tie for first in picks so far, but I 'm not a real stat guy. It seems we are pretty good at stuffing the run and forcing 3 and outs.

I like the way Wake and the DE crew are staying fresh. Even the DT'S rotating around as well. As Quinn said, this makes sense. The O-lines play all game, and our D-line catches a breath here and there.

Burke is letting these guys play. Our secondary is hitting hard and developing a rep for punishing receivers. I would like to see more corner blitzes and other stunts for more confusion.

I really enjoy it when the defense comes on the field. I never know if the next pick is coming, and with our guys getting a taste of it in the early part of the season, I'm sure they all want more.

And my man Kiko, keep bangin' brother!

One badass defensive game is a single act of greatness, 2 badass games and we start a streak. 3 defensive acts of destruction is arrival. This Carr is going to be on the side of the road broken down and out of gas!

This next game should tell me what I need to know about this defense. D-line/LBs run defense vs a good Oline, 3 solid WRs sets vs this secondary, and most importantly can we finally cover a TE?! I will know if the defense is legit or not after this game.

They've wildly exceeded my expectations. Not sure I'm ready to give credit to Burke but that D-Line deserves any praise coming its direction. Godchaux is playing like the elite prospect many thought he should be and Quinn is playing like the star he once was.

I still can't stand the lead with the shoulder approach of Alonso but gotta give the man his due. Hes all over the field making plays.

If they can get a bit more pressure from Harris/Branch/Wake this could be a very good defense.

First, a tweak. Burke and his staff appear to be much better. I'll be more confident after the Pats game.

I really expect McMillan and Baker to have a better second half of the season. Also Fitzy is gonna start getting his hands on balls as well soon and continue to improve. Not only is this defense legit we could be playing much better to end the year!

There is no doubt the O and D will play better in the back half of the season. More comfort in the system instead of thinking, more experience, fewer rookie mistakes. But, temper that with a tougher schedule. Eventually an OC will think he he's figured out the D and implement a scheme to beat it. THAT'S when we'll learn if Burke and this D are legit.
