I'm good with FA so far, a couple more guys and bring on the draft!

Obviously you haven't checked the YARDAGE on these players. Chambers broke 1000 once...ONCE. Nobody else came near. By the way, besides his best year...how about you check Chambers #'s besides TDs. Close to Marshall? I don't think so.

You also don't like the reception count either. Marshall is well over 80 and breaks 100 at times. Close to anything we got or will get? No.
you can hang your hat on yardage, I'll stick with touchdowns

On a team that already has a ton of holes, the strategy is to dump your SOLE playmaker in the passing game and have NO legitimate strategy for replacing him???
I like the Marshall pickup, and I like that we kept Solai, but dumping Marshall for next to nothing probably makes us the worst offense in football right now. In addition to our big needs at FS, DE, LB, RG, RT, TE, AND QB, we now need two wide receivers. This team has a little going for it on defense, and nothing going for it on offense right now. We're on pace for another 6-10 season AT BEST.

PITIFUL!

Buy your season tickets or these same people will say you aren't a "True fan"...

Everytime I see this thread title I keep thinking that I must have just woken up from a bad dream. But alas no.

Was I the only one watchin Marshall drop Tds and first down passes like they were hot potatoes? This guy was a good player but definitely had WAY too many issues to be considered "elite" He was/is a headcase we do not need the team was lucky to get two 3rds for him considering he just got involved in another 4 am fiasco that could spell big time suspension for him. Stop all the crying and look at what is possible. Early Doucet would be a good FA signing and this draft class is DEEP with wr's.

I also like Hartline as the Jordy Nelson type in this offense, He is faster than some here think and has gotten behind the defense many times only to be over thrown by HENNE.

Stop bringing up players in FA when they arent even scheduled a visit.

I don't care how deep this class is, getting a no doubt 1000 yd receiver who catches over 80 balls a year is not easily replaceable. And to tell me Philbins system doesn't need a true #1 is just ridiculous when seeing what he had last year. Their #3 WR is better than anything we have now. And if you think Fasano will turn into Finley in this system you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment.

Yes I saw a lot of drops, but if I'm not wrong, he was also close to the top in most targets. These drops didn't deter Moore going to him and finding the amazing Hartline or Bess more often. Even while Marshall was double teamed.

Translation....Jordy is white, maybe our white WR will do just as well.

Jordy > Hartline.....esp when Moore or Flynn is throwing to Hartline and Aaron is throwing to Jordy.

I said the same thing and I got bashed for it. This team isn't as bad as people make it out to be. If we fill a couple of holes, I think we can compete.

GB's receivers grew into a great group of wr's, over time, through drafts, not a single off season. B.Marshall is being held at some high standard with zero results.... no big time catches when the game was on the line, no clutch TD catches, I don't get what the big deal is. BM was a major disappointment, he's an incident away from a suspension and making way to much money.

Philbin is the one who will want to do this the right way, and that's not buying a team in FA. Keep your own FA's, fill some needs with reasonable contracts and draft your future. The WR FA market is way to expensive for what your getting in return and the system Philbin runs does not have a need for a number 1. Nice to have but not a major need.

Agreed. Look at the Pack's roster the last 2 yrs. Like the Pats when they won a SB, no dominant WR.

Further, GB's roster was TE heavy. It would not surprise me to see the phins double dip at this position during and/or after the draft. Fleener & The kid from NWestern for example.

Marshall was a head case and his throwing both Moore & Henne under the bus was unprofessional.

If BM played in the Regular season like he did in the recent Pro Bowl; there would be no need popoff like the a$$clown he is when speaking to the media.

We are creating more holes as we make no attempt to fill them. Who are we competing with? Expect a lower pick in next years draft for sure.

Sorry you think I hate the guy because I don't. I just don't understand the hype or might I say the crying over him....3 td's in 2010, 6 td's in 2011 and yet we should have received a bounty of picks for him, lol.

I look at receiving 2 - 3rds as good value for getting rid of the salary, the dropped TD's, and the head ache. Would I have liked more, yes but the realistic view is BM is not worth more right now.

I bet when it is all said and done the Fins have a diverse skill set at WR. Guys that are strong possession receivers coupled with guys with quicks and speed. None as good as Marshall straight up, but the passing game better overall. The passing game will be able to attack from different directions.

Look at the Saints Packers and Pats. They have outstanding talent, but no receiver as good as Marshall. However, their compilation at the position makes it impossible to defend.

Both Jennings and Colston are comparable to Marshall. Easily top 10 wrs....they also have a great set of WRs behind them. Their #2 and probably #3 wr on the saints and Packers are better than anything we have.

Id love to see where we will get guys that compare.

I will bring up whoever I think can fit here well. It seems that you just want to ride my arse which you are free to do ... but i dont swing that way sorry to disappoint ya. But then I am sure you are constantly disaappointed anyway so no big deal there. I did NOT say that Philbins system didnt need a #1 reciever so please do not put words in my posts. Fasano will be better in this system and so will Clay who has a huge upside. I think Hartline will be the jordi nelson figure in this offense. If you feel your comments are objective, you would be very mistaken. You have nothing but negative comments which is all i could expect from a hater. Im sure you are a Jets fan underneath and it suits you well.

Well too bad we havent filled any of these holes and now have created another big one unless you think Richar Marshall was the missing piece from out super bowl run lol
