First off, i like John Beck. He has tools, and apparently a boatload of motivation. The idea of taking Ryan #1 makes me queasy, but you gotta think that Miami will go qb at some point...probably sooner rather than later.

Brohm was widely considered the #1 qb prospect going into last year's colege football season. Considered by some to be the top overall prospect. For whatever reason(not a good Louisville squad, didn't meet expectations), his stock dropped. Most of the recent mocks I've seen have him dropping out of the 1st round altogether. I'm no analyst, I dont TIVO louisville games then watch endless hours of tape, but this guy seems to have all the tools. If this guy falls, can BP pass?

All this may be for not, it would be VERY tough for tampa to pass on him, or even baltimore in the top 10. but you never know. At any rate, I have much more interest in seeing whether this guy falls, and subsequently, whether well pull the trigger on him than what happens at #1. The #1 overall pick will likely be one of the Longs, and either will probably be a stud for a long time.

I wouldn't mind Brohm, but it does worry me that some of the draft publications says that he has leadership problems. Not a good thing for a quarterback.

Brohm would be a very good choice at 32 but i think we have other holes to fill with that pick such as a OT, OG like Branden Albert, CB like Flowers/Cason, or ILB i think Conner will be gone but with the depth at some positions i think this pick will be used for something other than a QB. Bu i voice again Brohm would be a very solid pickup our Qb situation would be fine for the next 10 years whether its Beck with Brohm as a backup or the other way around.

I doubt Brohm will be around at 32. He'll be a surprise first rounder, possibly as high as #13 to Carolina.

Agreed: if he's available grab him and don't look back! I have high expectations for Beck also... but to get a value like that at 32A is a prudent way to hedge our bets and hopefully end up with a Vick(before we knew)Schaub situation.

What the Ryan boosters who criticize some of us for championing Beck are missing is NOT that anyone wants to anoint Beck the heir apparent if he doesn't earn it.. BUT instead, although it's necessary here and now to develop a fall-back QB, it's not necessary to use a #1 pick for one with too many questions attached to him.

as much as i think we shouldnt draft a qb high this year..... if Brohm is there at 32 then he will be very hard to pass up.

i think we need to evaluate John Beck for a Year before we go drafting another QB. But i'll be one of the first throwing out the The draft day "S word" if we get Brohm there. Our Qb situation could get confusing tho.

If we take a QB in the 2nd round, I hope it is Joe Flacco.

Well lets "guess" which QB's will be available at that time for our 2nd pick.
Flacco
Henne
Brohm
Johnson
I heard we were looking closely at Henne, but many teams are. I don't think Brohm will be there at 32, and if he is I'd probably take him.
But even with Beck, we only have McCown left. We need a 3rd. So if not Brohm I'd probably go with Flacco as our 3rd QB.

Miami should not pick any Qb's until the 4th rd because whomever it is will sit on the bench for at least 3 years until they get this Qb mess sorted out.
