I'm hearing alot of criticism about wannstedt BUT!!

I'm hearing alot of criticism about wannstedt BUT if we didnt have wanny we may have never ended up with Saban.... Sometime things do happen for a reason. So dont ever say I wish we never had wannstedt because it was a good failure to learn from and it ended with a great result (Saban)

you guys need to get over the wanny hatred. Hes not here anymore and we have a new coach and a good outlook.

I think you just need to separate it. As a man, Wanny wasn't a bad guy at all. He was definitely a nice guy. But as a coach he was way too conservative, he didn't have any gall whatsoever, and he made awful personnel decisions. However, Rick Spielman deserves some of the blame for that too.

We should of been to afc Championship at least once. Our year was 2003 when ricky first came. We were dominant exept our coaching staff choked in the end of the season. We even dominated the raiders and they went to the superbowl.
 
i'm not trying to say wannstedt is not an idiot because i know he is. i'm just saying with out that failure we would be stuck w/ somebody other than saban and I truley belive that saban is one of the best if not the best coach in the nfl, so w/o wanny we would have a good coach at best.

I was in favor of Wanny when he was hired (yes, I admit it). However, I feel Huizenga held onto him too long. I thought he should have been fired 3 years ago when the Phins choked away the 2 road games at Minny and NE and missed the playoffs. JT led the league in sacks, we had a top 10 defense and an 1800 yd rusher and still inexplicably could not win the division.

It isn't necessary to go through years of having an idiot for a coach to get a great one. Wannstead did nothing for this franchise.
