There's been a lot of talk about the fact that we're using the wildcat"too much" and of course that talks comes every time the play doesn't work.Well here's what I have to say to that.Sparano and Henning are not dumb. They kknow what they're doing....I know that the play is not getting us 40 yards every time....what's more, there are times when we have a no gain and when that happens people start to say that the base offence is doing just fine so we don't need the cat anymore....well,maybe the base offence is working cause the other team is worry so much about the cat? Perhaps the other team is trying to prepare for the cat during practice and don't have enough time for our regular offence? Maybe we're giving the other team a lot to think about and therefor our regular offence is doing better? You can't judge how much the wildcat is helping our team base on how many yards we got the last time we ran it...we're gonna keep on running it so other teams have to prepare for it,therefor helping our REGULAR offence....in the end,Sparano,Hernning and company took on a team that was 1 and 15 last year and turned it into an 8 and 5 team with a chance to win the division....I'd say they know what they're doing but by all means,if any of you think you could be a better coach then please, share it with us.

It's a formation that is one of a bunch of them we have. I'm fine with running some plays from it, but, just like any sort of gimmicky offense, as teams got to look at it, they just went back and, found out teams defensed it. Little by little it started getting less effective, to where now it's getting pretty well snuffed out. If it works, by all means, run it. IF it doesn't, you need to look elsewhere.

I don't necessarily think it's running the Wildcat that is the problem; it's WHEN the Wildcat is used. Why use the Wildcat when the normal offense has gotten down the field 50 yards already? There's only been 4 or 5 variations of the same running play out of it, and it's pretty ballsy to have Ronnie throw it, especially in tight games at the time the formation has been called upon, most notably New England, St. Louis, and Buffalo, when the game was close.

Essentially, if the defense maintains gap responsibility, the Wildcat is dead before the ball is snapped, unless it is one of those gadget plays run out of it. I'm in favor of running the Wildcat, but at appropriate times. Open the game with it, use it on 1st and goal, but if it doesn't work, don't use it repeatedly the next down or two and end up in 3rd and long.

I get your point and yes,is not working as good as it did at first but again,it helps out our base offence and that's what matters most.Who knows if our offence would had ever been as good as is been if we had never ran it or if we had stoped using it....is like when you're good at trowing the football but not so good at running it...well,you still run the football from time to time to keep them honest...is the same thing with the cat...if you show it from time to time then the other team has to think about and it helps our base offence.

im in all for runnin the wildcat but jus some plays they choose to run doesnt give us many options... we gota stick to plays that ronnie has options wit the ball

The problem, IMO, is I always know when Ronnie will run or when Ricky will get the handoff.

Ronnie is telling the defense almost everytime which RB is gonna get the ball.

When Ronnie runs he almost never looks at Ricky after the wave for him to go in MOtion and he gts ready right before the fake handoff by putting one foot in front of the other, doesn't look at Ricky on the fake handoff and fakes it to Ricky with both hands forward.

When he hands off to Ricky his legs are almost parallel and he guides the ball into Rickys chest.

2 completely different motions from Ronnie.

If I can pick this up watching from home, I bet the DC'S are just eating it up when they are looking at the coaches film.

It's almost like a Play Action fake. If I am a LB'ER and I know everytime it's a fake he drops his left arm to the side of his body prior to the handoff and I see that QB doo it I am not gonna bite on the fake

Im also in favor of running the wildcat still this year, i wish they would save it for inside the 5 rather then at the 30. I believe that sparano is saving some goodies for the jets game and possibly the playoffs. There is no reason to waste any good plays on the raiders, rams or seahawks

I don't think we're using it too much, I just think we're using the SAME PLAYS too much. 9/10 times Ronnie is gonna run it up the middle..

I like to see us use the wildcat however i do think we nee to start using more variety of plays out of it, Idont care if we do the reverse flea flicker throw(though that play was awesome) I just think that formations always for so much creativity and so many different plays and option that I dont think we should limit it to basically a few plays plays.

I know what your saying about the other team preparing for the wildcat but imagine how much more preparing they'd have to do if we used 10-15 different plays out of it instead of basically 3 or 4. I think we gotta let brown make some more options including short throw/run options.

There could be a few wrinkles. Personally, I'd use it occasionally just to keep the opposition honest and perhaps light a spark under the offense if needed.
