Just 2 weeks ago we had some insane threads flying around this place. This thread is by no means intended to bash or insult any one. I am honestly just curious to see if any one still thinks that Saban needs to go, if Ronnie is a bust, if we need to trade JT and ZT, or any of those other crazy statements made. Please weigh in.

Nah, since we won two games those guys have crawled back under their rock because they now realize how stupid their threads were.

Although I agree, I would like to keep this thread friendly. I just honestly want to know if anyone still thinks Nick should be fired, Ronnie is a bust, etc.

But let me reittirate the fact that you are right again.

zach is a liability in pass coverage

ya we definately need to trade our 2 best defensive players.
ronnie is indeed a bust and saban couldn't coach a little league softball team.
J/k

although I don't post on here much, I thumb through the boards quite a bit and I have seen these same threads your talking about.
honestly.... who could we get that would be doing better at this point. this defense is the only thing that keeps us in games. our offense rarely scores 14 points a game.

jason taylor 4th in sacks with 8. thomas is 3rd in tackels with 82. perfect your defensive end is close to the lead in sacks and your mike linebacker close to the lead in total tackles. (3 off the lead in solos) cuz I know someone is going to ask.

Now I could throw stats at some of these people all day long. but if you watch the games you know these two are natural born leaders.

ronnie brown is the best back we have had in a long long time. perhaps RW is better but he's here one season gone the next. WTF??!!

just wait til our next bad game, these posters will be back on the boards.

Its funny, there was a guy in the stands yesterday knocking ronnie all day.

He was asking if he was so good why are they taking him out all the time.

I was like, you see him laying on the ground over there w/trainers trying to fix him don't you?

Some people will just never accept that he is and will be a great back.

On the coaching side. I think on any team, when they win the coach is a genius, when t hey loose people will call for their heads. Its not right, just the way it is.

While I am as happy as all hell about two wins in a row over quality opponents, that doesn't erase the previous record or the six losses it has landed us with nine games into the season. Our offensive playcalling is still laughably bad, and if Saban doesn't take steps to fix that situation he is at fault and should be blamed for it. Three things have improved that have led to the last two wins: 1)the defense has buckled down: the leaders on this team on defense (namely Jason and Zach) have stepped up, and Yeremiah Bell has begun to emerge as a player and on offense, 2)our WRs have started to remember to actually catch the ball and 3)Saban seems to have suddenly remembered that he has a player named Ronnie Brown on the team.
As for Brown, my opinion of him hasn't changed: he's a good RB. He isn't now and may never be a GREAT RB, but he's adequate to be a starter in the NFL. He wasn't worth the second overall pick, but we have him now and he's not going anywhere and we can win with him in there.

The problem I have with Nick is his hiring of MM and just giving him the keys to run the offense.
Nick has to get a better feel on his coordinators and fix their mistakes instead of waiting so long. Ronnie should have been getting the football 20+ times a game early on.
It is painful to know that Nick sat there and allowed MM to execute a game plan that wasn't conducive to getting the football into our best players' hands.

AQUA: yes, that would be me. i love how we get some small "success"
and we are now world beaters on our way to the superbowl.

we scored 16 POINTS AT HOME against a patchwork kc team who
has ALWAYS had a crappy defense. WOW!! and we almost gave
it away due to the fumbled handoff by the all world ronnie brown!

we are 3-6 and there will be NO PLAYOFFS!! why? because nick
saban cant draft, cant coach on an nfl level and left most of
the talent on the bench that should have been there on opening
day!!! it is to late for this team and that is sabans fault. to little
to late and 13 points doesnt wash away all the facts that have
doomed this season. saban will do the same things he did this year.
he will not draft well and he will have the wrong peices in place
only this time we will be force fed a washed up duante culpepper
to lead the way on next years heartache!!

ronnie brown? i dont care if we win the next ten superbowls, saban
payed a 4th round talent hall of fame money, something brown
will NEVER be. 89 yds against one of the worst run defenses in
the nfl? WOW!! yep, i have been wrong about him!!

now, i am not one of the people who wants jt and zach gone, expecially
jt, and the defense, thanx to dom capers, the D is playing GREAT even with
the obvious holes saban has left in it, cb, lb, and safety! the one he left
on the bench [untill today] is probably going to replace the bust he drafted.

you dont have to worry though AQUA, we will now win enough to
have a crappy draft spot and give wayne the fuel he needs to
ride saban into finz oblivion!! teams dont care about us and there
is no pressure, no play offs.

good homer post though AQUA. hail saban!! hail saban!!

Excellent point Redneck!!! What a bust our running back is....he can't hand the ball off!! It was a bad playcall, and bad execution, but a bad example to use to debunk the Ronnie optimism. It's not hard to see your biased opinions in every post you put out. I for one would rather be labeled a HOMER, than subscribe to your way of thinking.

i still think it wouldnt be a bad idea to replace zach if the oppurtunity is there. its nothing against zach as he has been my fav for years now and still love how the guy plays. but i feel that we really need to find some bigger linebackers that can cover too. zach just doesnt fit this defense really. yeah he still gets many tackles but for the responsibilities their asking from him he cant come through on em.

saban cant draft,

Brown = top-10 in total yards for RB
Crowder = 36th best LB by my ratings
Roth = valuable reserve
J.Allen - learning 2 positions, but coming on
D.Hagan - behind 3 good WR's, but productive when given the chance
T.Daniels - our best corner

yeah, in 2 drafts he's really bombed. :shakeno:

So I guess J.Fischer, Lovie Smith and Herm Edwards can't either.

So, D.McIntosh, Joey Harrington and Y.Bell are now "most of the talent" now?? Or did he bench Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Chris Chambers, etc to start the season???

Hall of Fame money?? Try 2nd overall pick in the draft money.....to, get this....the 2nd overall pick in the draft. Who would you have rather paid the money to? Braylon Edwards? Cedric Benson? Cadillac Williams? Aaron Rogers? None have outperformed Ronnie to this point. And don't give me the trading down BS....because some has to want to trade up, and neither of us know if there were any valid offers.

He's only had 2 drafts, with limited picks, but has already provided starters T.Daniels and C.Crowder....and I know you think you somehow know that J.Allen is a bust 9 games into his career....but I'll be a little more reasonable and give him a little time to adjust two learning 2 positions as a rookie (that type of versatility really sucks to have, doesn't it?), before I judge.

That one he started since LAST WEEK, replaced T.Tillman, there is/was no replacing of Jason Allen.....nice try though.

it seems funny to me that a guy pretending to be so smart (redneck) doesn't remember less than 24 hours later that we only scored 13 points and not 16.

*shakes head in confusion at every paragraph of rednecks post*
