does anyone think that his lack of accuracy and poor throwing may have been attributed to the fact that he had to split snaps w/ the 1st team during PS and therefore couldn't get the timing down pat with the guys? I know that I sound like a big apologist but I wasn't rooting for Frerotte to be the starter and I'm hoping that he can hit open receivers once the season starts. If he can't, put in Sage!!

No. His lack of accuracy can be attributed to poor consistency. He needs to play better, or play elsewhere. That's the bottom line.

Nah...

I'm in agreement with Saban on the whole excuse issue. Feeley fans made every excuse imaginable to validate his play, and they were wrong. There's no excuse for the way either quarterback has played thus far. Hopefully Gus will look better Sunday when the games start counting.

exactly.... Gus.. In the coaches minds have made better decisions. Now i dont claim to know the extent of what they based their evaluation on... but....the story goes...

Actually, I apologize for my previous post. I just looked at your age and I should know better than to get to your level. Sorry bud.

I just cringe at the thought of seeing those overthrown passes and those passes that seem to turn like a helicopter in the air.

I agree CK, but I doubt that Gus is capable of playing much better...WYSIWYG...(same as another QB we used to have)...

I get the feeling this may be a year where our QB, whoever it is at the time, will be working with a short leash. Saban strikes me as the kind of coach to go with the guy he thinks is playing better at that particular time. If Gus doesn't turn the ball over and can get the team moving, he'll likely hold on to the job. IMO the decision came down to the guy Saban felt he could trust to make the fewest mistakes.

Gus needs to stay consistent throughout the seaon not try to be an f-ing hero by forcing throws and trying way to hard. i want him to move the chains and get miami into scoring position not Win passing titles

I personally feel like Gus was holding back in the preseason. I mean by missing wide open receivers and overthrowing our receivers once they got behind the D. But Gus didn't want to do it all himself, so each game the receivers would step up and drop pass after pass. I'm not worry because the Broncos don't have any clue to what is going to happen to them this week when the offense plays for real.

First of all, AJ did have some bad throws during the PS but if you watched the games, I would have to say that Frerotte's passes that was "spinning" in the air was quite ugly the uggliest that I saw thus far.

Secondly, I'm resigned to the fact that Frerotte is our starter. I was hoping Feeley took the job in PS but he didn't. Nevertheless, the purpose of this thread isn't to compare Frerotte to Feeley. I know you wanted Frerotte from the get go.

:shakeno: I wasn't saying anything bad about you, I was just saying that most of these threads get turned into a fight between posters about which QB they support. Sorry if being fifteen gives me no right to post.
