Mike McCarthy has had a strong offense for several years now. Not saying Philbin doesn't help them with game planning, but those plays on Sunday are McCarthy. Just like Sean Payton in NO.
 
Delhomme? Orton? Tebow? Color me impressed. :rolleyes2:

I really don't like the idea of this guy. I hate the list of candidates left.

And you think having Philbin wouldn't have been Sparano 2.0? If anything Philbin reminds me more of Sparano a former o line coach who doesn't call plays. But think what you will and good day to you.

mccarthy might call the plays but philbin is there offensive coordinator, he a big part of that offense and will bring it to miami.
 
It still comes down to the qb.... If fail to find one Ireland and whomever the coach is will be canned. Find one and watch "the real Mccoy" threads run wild.

I'm not thrilled with this guy, but be that as it may, it doesn't alter the fact that Tebow still sucks.

Tebow is the reason for his great season, tebow is the reason the broncos won that playoff game against pittsburg, tebow is the reason this mccoy oc is about to get a head coaching job with the dolphins. If anything this guy made tebow look bad not allowing tebow to pull the trigger like he did in the pittsburg game all season, it took john elway intructions to the broncos staff to let the kid play. This is another tony sparano, im calling it now and im sticking to this. I always support the dolphins but this is HORRIBLE NEWS.

If mccoy gets this job in miami he needs to call tebow and say thank you, hes getting all this damn hype due to tebows great season. What about philbin, he coaches aaron rodgers and matt flynn, wheres the hype on him? Ross you making a huge mistake here, dont listen to ireland man, trust your insticts, your a self made billonaire and jeff ireland didnt help u get there. God help the dolphins.

Marshall, I think you are jumping overboard way too soon. I don't know enough about McCoy to have such a strong opinion as yours. However this I do know, we can only go up from here on out. McCoy is actually held pretty high around the league. There's more going on then what you see on your TV set on Sundays. If there's been good speculation outside of South Florida regarding McCoy then I am buying it. McCoy might be a victim of 65% of America that have it in for Tim Tebow. Quite frankly I don't get the hate! Regardless I think if anything McCoy won't be the worst hire as you are mentioning. We could have ended up with a Mularkey, at this point I am ecstatic we didn't.

Furthermore, Orton had excellent success under McCoy last year. He knows Marshall's game and he also got a glance of Moore in Carolina. All these things are positives and can be instrumental in getting a career year out of either a Brandon Marshall or a Matt Moore (assuming he's the starter), etc. I don't know enough about the guy to say he's "fools gold" (I've been hearing that term be used quite loosely lately) but I do know he might be one of those young coaches that can come in an surprise many. The book has not been written on Mike McCoy and that is more then what I can say for many other candidates.

@the poster who just compared sparano to philbin. Philbin is the offensive coordinator for the pack, when has sparano ever been an offensive coordinator before becoming a head coach in miami? Sparano only got the job in miami because he would do what parcells told him too, philbin is way more qualified than sparano can ever dream off to being a head coach in the nfl. U cant even compare the too, the difference is enormous in qualifications.
 
Hard to be fools gold when you're not anything resembling gold to begin with. More like tarnished brass.

+1, this is a post i can agree with, while im not happy with mccoy, i am glad we didnt get murlarkey either.
 
Is this a joke? The only reason Denver was in any games was because of there defense. Sure Tebow mad some great plays when it counted, but as you can see, teams like NEW ENGLAND put up points that Denver/TEBOW cannot match. McCoy had to ADAPT to what TEBOW COULD or COULD NOT do! Tebow's completion percentage says it all. Tebow is a great NFL PLAYER...not a QB!! YET!!
