I've been watching the Dolphins since probably 1988 or so when I was 10. Through the 90's and early 2000's losing would absolutely destroy at least the start of my week. We've been bad now for a decade+. Now I get neither high nor low. It's like I don't even care...but I do. Is anyone else at the shoulder shrugging point? Who still gets as wound up about winning and losing as much as they used to? Does this make me a fair-weather fan? I've never considered myself that fan, but now I'm questioning myself. Should I feel guilty about not really giving a flying F after games like this?

I don't think you're fair-weather. I'd say you're used to Dolphins football. It's been a tough 10-12 years.

I think numbness, anger or despair are all traits of a true fan, in this case.

Nope. I'm numb to it too. All I can do is laugh after getting embarrassed. I'm not the type that switches things up so I'd never cheer for another team. I like my burgers a certain way, my pizza a certain way, etc. This here is getting to be quite pathetic with our Dolphins.

Yea man I'm 23 so ... That's all i have seen :/ from my time as a fan.

I personally get really down if I watch an actual defeat. But if I can't watch the game and just see the score it doesn't bother me as much.

Nope. I envy you. I'm now at the point where I don't really get upset, but I still care.

Hopefully, this team will cleanse me of the care on Thursday.

I stopped caring after last week and was indifferent today...until they went up by two scores after the first half and got my damn hopes up again only to crush them again. Silly me. A win does nothing for me Thursday.

Teach me your trick. I've literally started developing migraines over these losses. I expected to lose today, but that 17-3 start gave me false hopes yet again. Migraine anyways. A loss Thursday and I'll get numb to the rest if the season.

How long have you been following this team? There's no trick to it. I guess it's just a natural defense mechanism that appeared after a long time. If you'd have told me I'd feel this way 15 years ago I wouldn't have believed it.

I just wish I was watching football with integrity. But there is none in this league.

The ref apologists are at work now. stay tuned monday morn.

Losing doesn't bother me like it used to either. I was bummed after the Saints loss, but the last time I was really devastated after a loss was when we played Indy in 2009 and rushed for around 300 yards and couldn't stop Peyton Manning. Tony Sparano, Jeff Ireland, and now Joe Philbin have left me numb. It's like trying to have faith in your girlfriend that keeps cheating on you.

I'm right there with you buddy.

I still follow everything about this team as closely as I ever did, but the emotional swings are not there anymore like they were when I was younger. Honestly, I actually prefer it that way. Stand back and watch what happens on fan sites like this and you'll realize it's not worth the self-inflicted stress/turmoil.

I was very indifferent today. My friends couldn't believe how relaxed I was watching the game when Miami was dominating. I told them I've seen this too many times and I knew what was coming. The Buffalo game killed this season for me. We have serious flaws as an organization if we can't beat Buffalo at home with a backup QB.
