we just played probably the most physical team in football and they didnt slaughter us. i know it sounds dumb. but from what i hear our d stop them from scoring. we just had alot of fumbles what was it 7. and they could only get 17 points. great job by the defense. our offense just needs more time to gell. im happy. we fought hard against maybe the most brutal team in the nfl. could just be my homerism coming out but im pretty proud of our boys. give nick time. man i cant wait to see what we look like next year. with a year of experience. poole coming back. randy mueller helping nick scout talent. man i think we are looking alot better. besides who here fooled themselves into thinking we would beat pittsburgh in heinz field? hmmmmmm? **** i thought we were gonna get beating to pieces with 45 injuries. sorry guys but im impressed.:)

:yeahthat: I totally agree, our defense was great last night

Please pitts offense is nowhere near one of the best offenses in the league. They are missing their starting RB in Staley and lost their main deep threat in plaxico. Hines has been in camp for a week. The defense played good but lets not get ahead of ourselves Pitt is not one of the best offenses in the league. The run D still needs much improvement.

I'm going to disagree here. They may not put up the most points but are a great offense because they do just what they set out to do: control the game. You make it sound like Jerome Bettis is a nobody, when in fact he's the #5 leading all time rusher (maybe 6, I'm not sure).
Big Ben played great under constant pressure from the defense. The one interception aside, he always got the ball off to his safety guy. My last point is this: The Steelers are the best team in football right now. Yeah, the Patriots are good and have a hell of a run going but the depth and familiarity with the coaching staff on the Steelers is second to none. Last night they had like 10 different receivers make a catch, and they had their second and third string running backs break some nice runs. They're just a great team on both sides of the ball.

Now to agree with you, we still need help in run defense.

I agree they do have a good offense but not great and not one of the best in the league. Your right Bettis is a great RB however he wasnt the most impressive last night against our 1st string Defense. Now 10 different recievers making a catch can mean 2 things: They are that good or our Pass D isnt that good. I still dont think they are one of the better offenses in the league without Duce and Hines playing every play. But I do think they are one of the best running teams in the league.

ON a side note our avatars are opposites. You have a young skinny Homer and I have an older Fat Bart.

Yes, it was ugly withe fumbling, but the scoreboard could have been much uglier.

The best team in the preseason does not matter, I would not be surprised if Pitt was the 3rd best team in there division at the end of the season. I don't believe Pitt is a great team, I don't think they'll be a playoff team. They don't have a great offense, but they have a great running game, and a very good defense. Hines Ward being the 37th highest paid wideout is a joke. Big Ben is going to be a very good QB, but I think they need to bring in another wideout, because I believe Randle El is a 3rd wideout.

Yes it does! Who the heck was that guy breaking 37 yards on them anyway? Then another 20 later on? Geez!
