Im really starting to like Ross

Why? Because he got the "best of the left-overs"....Homers settling for crap as usual...

Yes because Fishers 6 play off wins in 17 years is so damn good. Homers huh?

Its a little to fast to jump on the Ross bandwagon. Maybe if we get a winning season then ill jump on it, but until then, no. But I do like the Philbin pick up, and i'd like to see him get Flynn, (not RG3!!).

How in the world does it make any sense to say you are on or off the owners bandwagon? Sometimes the thing ppl post just makes me shake my head. It's his team, it's not like all the belly moaning from the peanut gallery will ever change this. He's not the QB, GM or the HC. He's here till he gets bored.

Sometimes not getting your first choice works out for the best. Just ask Baltimore and Atlanta. Harbaugh and Smith were second choices after getting turned down by their first.

I wouldn't have been impressed with Fisher but over the last 17 years the Dolphins have playoff wins against the Colts, the Seahawks, Bills and...HOLY CRAP! THAT'S IT?! 3 playoff wins in 17 years. That can't be right. Am I remembering incorrectly? I guess 4 if we're counting the wins over the Chiefs in 94.

My opinion of him has yet to change. It will after we have a winning season. Until then I have to question him keeping Ireland around and striking out with J Fish.
Dude, not for nothing, but even when ground and pound could win you rings, Fisher still was'nt all that great. Just sayin.

I really didn't want Fisher.....I actually wanted a guy open to new ideas and doing what works in the NFL today, not what worked 15 years ago.

Ozzy rules!!

I know a lot of folks will say "I never wanted Fisher anyway!" simply because we missed out on him.

But the truth is that only a minority of Dolphins fans who post here, on other boards, and call into radio shows seemed excited about the guy. A lot of us preferred an offense-minded coach and thought Fisher would only be a good hire because he would be credible and help restore the team's image. I think Philbin will do just that and probably be a better fit for us, to boot.

I know that Ross gets a lot of flak, and some of that deservedly so, but under his watch Sparano is gone and we just hired a guy who was instrumental in building a great offense and developing an all-world QB.

A football rookie owner. Obvioulsy he is not dumb or he wouldn't be a billionaire, so maybe he will get the hang of the football business as well. One thing is for sure, everything he has done was with the purpose to build a winner. I sincerely believe he wants the Fins to be winners.

I fully support the Philbin hire. We may never know if McCoy's alleged insistence on bringing in his own DC was the only issue.

IMO what Ross needs is to get a better front person for the franchise than himself. His press conferences are awkward, clunky, and his jokes go nowhere. In combination with failing to land his two preferred coaching candidates in less than a year, this leads to a perception that he's not really up to the task of NFL ownership. Throw in a mediocre sports media to cover these events, and the jokes about our franchise spread like wildfire. The round table from last year that was aborted and rescheduled set a new low for it's genre, and will hopefully be as bad as it ever gets here.

Ireland does not strike me as the guy you want out front, either. Could it be Philbin? You can be quiet and have a Dungy-type charismatic way about you, so I'll go out on a limb and say, "maybe." I hope so, at any rate. If he's successful here he may be handed that baton by default whether he likes it or not.

Once again I find myself getting excited due to the potential that seems to emminate from this hire. Yea, there has been bitter dissapointment over the last 15 or so years, but this guy orchestrated a very good Offense in GB and we had a pretty good D. If we had just started the first 7 games a little better...or finished it might have been a different season...water flowed. There is much moer to play with on this team now, opposed to what was here with Satan and Ca-moron. The glass is at least half full now.

Ross got who I wanted from the get go so I am very happy.

Fisher sucks and even has a track record to prove how bad he really is, also to say Philbin is the leftovers is just idiotic.

Welcome aboard Joe, good work Ross!

Ross is no dumb *** as posters make him about to be - he lost out on Harbaugh when he had lil if any chance of getting him it was worth a shot IMO

Ever since that circumstance that the media UNFAIRLY made into a "Life and Death" issue - because when they have no news they make news as was evidenced in teh past weeks - Ross has introduced the people that Tuna hired - to one of these - I am down with that - Carl Petersen has been quite savvy too

Not sure what that has to do with Fisher possibly becoming our HC. This post just seemed like an excuse to bash the Dolphins, well done.
