We have just under $9M now. I'm moving Grimes, Jennings, Jordan, Misi, Mitchell, and Dallas to free up $20.5M more, and the new projected cap adds another $5M. Thats $35M and I did not add in a Wake or Cameron restructure or Suh.

This allows us to pay OV, Miller, FA OG CB $15M or less this year, and have money left to fill in the other blanks. Does not include tagging OV.

Agreed, I played with the numbers too. I think we can definitely sign some people, but I don't think we move on from Grimes or Misi since that would strip our LBs and CBs.

We also need to set aside 5 mil for the rookies and maybe another a few mil for in season cushion.

Going to have to tag OV or he is gone so that takes 15M there. If you release Grimes that would save what about 6 net and have to find a at least one corner which would cost you at leaet near that for any real quality. I'm not really sure how much room were going to end up having, think it really depends on what happens with OV an how much they restructure Suh.

speculation. We have no clue who they will cut yet or what Cameron, Wake, Suh or Grimes deals will look like

I just put up a rough estimate after seeing the media saying we cannot do anything. IF we keep grimes, the Wake and Cameron restructures will offset his $6M and we still have around $35M.

He's not speculating anything, he's saying how much money will be saved by various cuts. He isn't predicting the dolphins decision....

Lets say we cant resign our own and they dont tag OV, curious if they will still restructure Suh or not and take the large hit this year. There will be lots of holes but how much are we really going to improve in one offseason under that scenario? Think its worth a consideration.

We better have a good draft either way, we said this last year but we need 3 players to perrform and start out of this draft.

When you play with the draft numbers, remember that only the top two picks have a net effect on the cap. With the other picks, another player drops out of the top 51 and it is a wash.

Sounds like Jordan is staying, probably going to be a restructure/extension deal. I have this bad feeling that Dallas makes it to training camp and they keep him around for depth. I think we will see a step by step process for free agency, not a widespread clearing out. They won't cut or restructure until they have something else lined up.

He cited guard as an area the team wants to “improve” and “we have some ideas on how we can help the guys currently on the roster…. When you have good guard play, it’s easier for the quarterback to step up.”
He said "there are a few spots on defense we're looking to clean up. We're so far away from this thing being an end product. We have some needs we need to fill."

To tag OV we would need to restructure Suh, cannot do it otherwise.

On Grimes, need to look at his 2 year savings which total $18M. That allows a $9M FA CB to replace him as the first year will be cheap.

IMO, more like things that make sense as well as dollars. I put in Grimes but, did not Wake or Cameron. One or both will happen. I also di not include Suh.

I do not want to go crazy in FA. I just want to keep our own and add a VG young CB with an OG and do some shopping from there. IF we cannot sign our own, no reason to restructure Suh.

Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each NFL Club has the option to carry over unused cap space from the prior League Year. Below is the carryover amount from every team.
Every team elected to carry over unused salary cap space from 2015. Note that the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints opted to not carry over the full amount available to them. The smallest carryover amount is $11,587 by the Seattle Seahawks, and the largest is $32,774,928 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The total carryover amount from 2015 is $203,963,112, making the average carryover per Club $6.4 million.

Under the current CBA, Clubs have minimum cash spending requirements. For the years 2013-2016, Clubs are required to spend an average of 89% of the Salary Cap over the four-year period. League-wide, Clubs must spend an average of 95% of the Salary Cap over the four-year period.

Once the 2016 salary cap is set, the carryover amount and other adjustments from the 2015 season will be combined for each team’s official salary cap position.

I know they can save 18 mil by restructuring Suh but I would not push that much money back into future years. It will just hurt us later. I would rather lessen his cap number from 28.5 to around 16 mil. Stay close to average.

I think it's time to part ways with Misi. He cannot stay on the field anyway. He misses 3 or 4 games every year and is playing hurt and ineffective 3 or 4 more games. That's not money well spent at 5 mil. Way too steep for what we are getting. Especially as a two-down SLB. We save 3.72 mil by cutting him.

Suh + 12.5 (re)
Wake +2.5 (re)
Misi + 3.7
Earl Mitchell +2.5
Greg Jennings +4

That's 25.2 mil savings right there.

I think it makes SOME sense to keep Jordan Cameron but not unless they can extend him. 5-6 mil per year will save us 4 mil or so. He should be a decent weapon when they fix the o-line and stop making him block. He did have way too many drops last year.

Brent Grimes seems to have been on the decline dating back to game 10 in 2014 continuing into last year. Sure he would benefit with better corner play opposite him as well as better FS play but he isn't a 10 mil dollar corner any longer. He is 33 in July. He isn't going to get better but the FO needs to study his film and make that decision. He would be one of the last cuts I make (if I make it) and it would be with the post June designation to save us 8 mil.
