Thats fine. Football isn't the game it used to be. Remember YA Tittle and Jack Lambert. They played hurt. Now days if they break a nail and they're on the IR.MikeO said:If you get your way then the CFL will become the biggest thing in this country. Everyone will be running there.
Yes Ronnie was one of em, but i mean over-all. This is getting to be an every year activity and its gotta stop. Sooner or later the fan is gonna get stuck with the bill and football is gonna fall flat!:fire:wyatt erp said:I assume you are talking about ronnie browns hold out. this is somthing thant nfl teams need to clean up . this free agency and the hig price athlete is why college football will run circles around the nfl unless they do something about this.
as far as i'm concerned the rooks are even lower. trying to get what they think is best and haven't played a down'@@@@@ said:An unsigned rookie can't be "holding out" since he has no contract and therefore has no obligation whatsoever to turn up untill he gets, what he feels is a reasonable offer. Don't paint them with the same brush player who is "holding out" eg Owens, Walker etc etc who is knowingly breaking the terms of the deal which he voluntarily signed
I think thats an excellent plan. Although i don't think i'd give a rook a million dollars until he proved himself. Don't you think it would be better to offer a million as an incentive. Set some goals they have to meet, if they do it, show em the money!UltraDol-Fan said:I agree, I think instead of league minimum, though, every pick in the draft should get a specific amound of money. For example, all first round picks get like $1 million contract and $1 million bonus. All second round picks get $800,000, etc. I just made up the amounts, but I thinks something like that would be better.

I remember games where guys played with broken bones, today its all about money. Sure, they might run to the CFL for a while, but when the players start playing because they love the game instead of the weekly paycheck, they'll be back
