I'm trying not to be repetitive in the thread topics, but it's hard. I promise this will be my last thread STARTED talking about our QB position unless something big happens....

Like mostly everyone on this site, I was excited when we landed Pennington. I really believed he gave us the best chance to win. Now that two games have been played I'm starting to think that it wasn't a good idea. Well, let me rephrase that, it was a good idea because he can mentor Henne but I don't want to see this guy play anymore. I got overly excited because how he used to carve us up with the Jets. More than being dissapointed with his weak arm, I just much rather see what Beck or Henne could do. He got a raw deal seriously.

Pennington has so many leader qualities. When I hear him talk, I hear a winner. I just hope he can get this thing turned around and start putting up some wins. The no turnovers is a good thing, but that is mostly because he's dinking and dunking. I just want him to take some more chances. I want our team to play with the same hunger and urgency they did on that final drive in the Jets game. If we can come out with that same mentality we could do some damage, that's not being unrealistic. But at this very moment, I'm curious to see what John Beck, even Chad Henne can do.

Ever since our loss to Zona all your posts have ben bashing Pennington.

Give it a rest. He's not going to be benched anytime soon.

Did Pennington give up the 14 points in the first 10 minutes? Is Pennington running the routes? Is Pennington blocking, or missing blocks? Is Pennington calling the plays and personnel packages?

Pennington has been off early though, and it is starting us off slow. He does need to do better there...

Canadian get out of the thread if you're tired of hearing about it, it's pretty simple. I didn't bash him, I just said we know what we have in Pennington and we don't know what we have in the other two.

Did I say he gave up the fourteen points early? I know he didn't construct any drives or put any points on the board.

As painful as it is to watch Pennington play, it's more a matter of the defense and Henning. Everyone wants to cut Henning slack, but, I'm sorry....He's been in the NFL a looooooooooooooong time. If he can't call some semblance of an origional game by now, he needs to go.

pennington is not the problem it is the pathetic wr corp and bad play calling that is the problem.

If you're going to post a thread.. anyone has a right to respond to it. Unless of course your just looking for buttkissing homers to pat you on the back.

All week you've been whining about this and that.. because you've wrongfully assumed that we would be instant contenders this year, while all along.. ALL ALONG the Trifecta have been quite honest that this wasn't going to be a quick fix solution. Did you really think our preseason record would truly equate to in season success. Maybe thats why so many people say preseason means nothing.

Once you stop trying to pin all your disappointment on one player and start looking at the grand scope that Penningtons problem is just ONE problem.. of about 53 right now. If you want to include coaching add another 7 problems.

Did you not watch or read about anything that was going on during training camp and pre-season? We pretty much know what Beck can do. He has the physical ability, but mentally he is not tough enough to make it in the NFL. Give the John Beck threads a rest. Please. that guy will not be a starter here.:shakeno: and why play Henne now. he is the furture starter, we all know that. but it does no good to play him now.

Not to bash the guy, but how many points has he been responsible for putting up on the board the last two weeks?

bro, you couldn't be more wrong. I know our defense is horrible. I know we don't have good receivers. I'm not pinning our failure on one player. I simply want to see what Beck and/or Henne have before we go cutting Beck. Understand?

And if your tired of hearing about it, why come in the thread?

Our offensive playcalling have been appalling. Add to it the fact that we're not even putting our players in positions tro be successful. And when we do, players either run the wrong routes, not get separation, take penalties, don't block, can't run, can't catch.. as well as can't throw.

there are so many can't it's unbelieveable. Its part coaching.. and its part players. This is exactly what you get when you have a team loaded with bad talent.

Man, nothing personal, but your all over the place with this.

Theres a simple answer to this. Henning has to call plays to the strengths of his personnel. Pennington, well, err. Nevermind.

Lets talk about his strengths. Smart, Rhodes Scholar finalist for broadcast journalism, players like him. He's simply a leader.

Through 2 weeks, I've noticed that on 3rd and long situations, it seems that our receivers expecting to get a first down A) can't get open where he can get them the ball or B) They're open and he doesn't see them C) He sees them just knows that he can't get the ball to them in time enough for them to make a play; or D) Hell if i know. What I do know is that he keeps dumping the ball off well short of the first down marker.

I'm hoping that in week 3 he can silence his critics here in Finheaven and prove to us that he's not what we have come to accept with him.

We need to put W in the Win/Loss column. Bottomline.

Hopefully Henning can find more strengths so that we can look like a legit NFL offense.
