I'm on record for not thinking Ryan Tannhill is the QB that we'll win our next SB with and that hasn't changed, However, IF he can play the rest of this season like he played yesterday I may have to change my opinion. Yesterday's performance was NOT GREAT like I've heard many people say. But I'm a football educated fan and I don't expect my QB to be GREAT every week. Don't tell me about his 130 QB Rating because QB ratings don't take into account missed opportunities (like the short throw to the TE when Landry was open Deep for an easy TD) and other subtle things that don't show up on the stat sheet which i'll get to in a second.

I wanted to see how he performed when the offensive line wasn't DOMINANT (which they weren't yesterday) or when Ajayi wasn't DOMINANT (Which he wasn't yesterday) and late in the game when we faced some adversity and needed him to make some plays to lead us to victory and when put in that situation he MADE PLAYS! Now, some may ask... why don't you think he was GREAT and my answer to that is,

1. He had Landry wide open for the TD but he had made up his mind where he was going with the ball before the play fully developed and went with the short easier throw. I'm ok with that, but I would have been more ok had he been more aggressive and thrown to Landry.

2. The Defense gave him the ball off of turnovers twice in the second half and we didn't score any points. That's not all on him but as the QB he's going to take most of the blame for that. Comes with the position.

3. He took a sack in the first half that knocked us out of FG range. That's never good.

4. And finally, for several stretches in the game the offence appeared to be stagnant.

But like I said.. I don't expect him to be GREAT! Just play the game and MAKE SOME plays when opportunity presents itself, (Like on the broken tackle to avoid the sack and run for a first down) I think yesterday's game is all that us Tannehill detractor would like to see from him on a consistent basis.

I've been a dolphins fan too long to be totally convinced that him and this team have turned a corner, but I'm very encouraged and now have hope that what we've seen the past 4 weeks is sustainable. We might not win every game but if we can at least COMPETE, I think we have something to build on an are heading in the right direction.

Where are my Tanehill haters at??? After these last 4 games, have any of you guys\gals opinions changed? Or are you like me and want to at least see how this season plays out?

You answered your own question on 1.. even the commentator pointed it out. Play design. Wasnt even supposed to look at Landry.

smh....dumb dumb dumb.

People must think every QB they deem as 'Great' make 100% of their throws, 100% of the time, never miss an open man, never miss an opportunity, etc etc.

Looking forward to you doing one of these after every win. Just 7 more to go even though it's not likely. You will get the lose you want to **** on him again don't worry.

I heard him say that..... BUT then I saw Landry throw his hands up in disgust as if he didn't get that memo so..... I'm not so sure he wasn't supposed to look at Landry. How would the commentator know that anyway? He's not in the huddle or practices.

The performance was "Big Boy" stuff . . . I mean we can nitpick plays but that doesn't stop the performance from being great . . . it was GREAT.

But admitting it was great should not force you to have to be now his biggest supporter. He was our QB for 4 years and if you didn't like him after 4 years, it certainly shouldn't take 4 games for you to change your mind. However, if you aren't at least encouraged, then I say your agenda is clear.

Seems like you are encouraged, which is great, I am too. We all want the Dolphins to win (I hope) and Ryan Tannehill playing great football is a key component in winning these games.

Anyone who remotely thinks Tannehill did NOT play great yesterday should stick to watching soap operas and The View.

This post is a incoherent, rambling mess and it starts with your title which makes no grammatical sense.

Tannehill got hammered all day and single handedly won the game with his deep passes that were elite, all while getting blasted by San Diego.

You're reasons as to why he wasn't "great" could be used against every elite QB in the NFL and are not relevant.

I'm a DOLPHINS fan man.. The LAST thing I WANT to do is S*** on the QB that's starting for my team. I just know how important the position is and I want that guy to be good. And if I don't see good, I'm going to complain. Yesterday, he was good. And I hope he can be good consistently because like i Said... I'm a Dolphins fan.

I suggest you watch a LOT of games every week. I suspect you'll see those flaws in a LOT of QBs, even "top" QBs. As I say (maybe) too often, a lot of mistakes posters lay (correctly) on Tannehill, those mistakes are COMMON around the NFL. If absence of those mistakes is your standard, you won't like ANY QB.

No you're not. You're nitpicking a win with bull**** complaints.

I don't throw that word GREAT around loosely. I've seen GREAT games from a QB watching Marino play and yesterday wasn't GREAT... BUT like i Said... I don't expect the QB to be GREAT every week. He just has to be Good. And yesterday Tannehill was Definitely Good.

Waht's incoherant about "I STILL don't believe in Tannehill"???? Did you flunk 3rd grade? And these are the types of comments that create the heated debates about the QB. You say he "Single Handedly won the game" As if he threw the ball to himself, blocked for himself and called his own plays.... COME ON DUDE! He made 3 GREAT throws... But those 3 great throws don't eliminate the bad throws and missed opportunities that also happened. I don't throw the word GREAT around loosely. Ajayi the two prior games with over 200 yards was GREAT! 17-24 for 240 just from a stat line isn't GREAT. Not even taking into account the missed throw and missed opportunities. But hey, if YOU want to say it was GREAT.. then go ahead. I'm just giving MY opinion.

I'm sure everyone here is crestfallen that someone with your august reputation as an insightful football mind refuses to extend Tannehill validation after he's been working so hard to please you. :(
