I normally can't stand the guy (Cross), but I've actually started liking him this year. I think his critisicm of Chambers is entirely fair. Do you disagree that the glove was the reason he made the grab? I don't. Chambers is capable of making incredible catches. He just isn't making them on the big, important plays yet. Gus isn't making it easy, but a couple this year are completely on Chambers.
I've also heard Cross on Sirius NFL talk highly of the Dolphins. He is always extremely complimentary of their defense, Zach, Taylor, etc.

What difference does it make what he says? Would you have a better Sunday afternoon if Randy Cross said it was a good catch? He's just there to comment on the game. Don't put so much stock into what he has to say. It isn't a big deal!

I'm not really concerned about his critisicism of the Dolphins as I am the fact that Randy Cross is ****ing terrible. Last night was some of the worst commentary I've ever heard outside of Joe Theisman.
First he claimed if Jason Taylor was an animal, he'd be a cobra, and then said that he weighed well over 280 pounds.
When Ricky Williams broke his 13 yard run that was called back, he claimed that Ricky Williams weighed 225 "yards"(not pounds), and runs like Reggie Bush.
And then as Kevin Harlan was talking about Channing Crowder and how his father played DT for the Dolphins and Bills, Cross interjects and starts talking about how linebackers like Channing Crowder have to tackle runningbacks like Carnell Williams, who is on the sidelines. That's got to be the worst segue I've ever seen anyone make ever.

I can't see him being the main reason SF won those Super Bowls. I can see introducing Joe Montana as a Super Bowl winner....but not Randy Cross. Thats just ******ed.

Did you think we played well. Did Chambers make the needed catches? OK chambers made a one haded catch. It was really good. The Dolphins are one of the best teams in football. How is that.

It may be flogging a dead horse a bit to keep mentioning his part in the Superbowl victories but he was part of a multiple Superbowl winning team and deserves a mention as a result. However, as was mentioned earlier, he is a painfully bad commentator to listen to. He is truly awful. Atrocious!
Most poor commentary I can kind of ignore and get on with enjoying the game but Randy Cross is absolutely woeful. I think he's even worse than Theismann and that's really saying something. I can stick just about every commentator other than Cross and Theismann (although Joe Buck isn't far off that elite list for me) and I could put up with Theismann longer than Cross.
Just out of interest, was Dan Fouts kicked off NFL coverage after not going over well on Mondays? Surely he's a better commentator than Cross and Theismann? At last he seems to know more about football than I do. It's really poor when the professionals appear to have less football knowledge than someone living in Ireland who has never been to an NFL game in his life.
