I'm watching Marino's first start in 1983 against the Bills. I'm still in the 1st quarter, but you can definitely tell that Marino is the real deal (even though his first pass was deflected and intercepted). I guess it was so long ago, but I forgot that Marino actually can play fake.

Two things that I notice right away...
1. The Orange Bowl rocks!!!!!!
2 Marino has a GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping when I get to the end of the game the Fins actually win this game in overtime instead of lose it.

I hope Chad Henne can be our new Marino. I know it's a lot to ask, but DAMN, Marino was fun to watch.

You older guys(no offense) are pretty lucky to have witnessed Dan turn into a superstar. I wish I could have seen his first games. Im not complaining though since I got to see D. Wade

I wish I could've seen any of his games

that brought back a memory. i'm pretty sure marino's first appearance was against the saints. he was great but we still lost. i watched it in a hotel near redington beach eating kfc.

I think his first appearance was against the Raiders...I think.

Hey GoonBoss, your boy, Jim Jensen, caused a fumble on the opening kickoff. And rookie Mark Clayton was returning punts for us.

Tony Nathan, Joe Rose, Bruce Hardy Jim Jensen just rocked and thats before you got to the Marks brothers. Any given Sunday no matter what the score you knew we were in the game. Even in first 50/50 season when we beat the bears you just never turned away from the tube knowing he could throw a dart and change the scheme of the game. We never seemed to get in our defense in order in many of those years but part of that problem was because Dan would throw so much and we never ran the ball much that the defense never got a good rest. Many of those Jets games were the best. So many OT's really in most cases it came down to who had the ball last. Yea Marinio made if fun no matter what the score and Shula just made you beleive that you had the right guy at the helm. Amazing we kicked Shula to the side after a 50/50 season and suddenly that is as good as we could get until last year and really 1 good year under Dave W.
Lesson learned always looking for that greener pasture and it was in the backyard all the time.

20 years from now. A thread title appears: " I'm watching Henne's first start....."

We can only hope :hi5:

Watching Mark Clayton, I can't believe he didn't get picked until the 8th round. He may be small, but he can play. He caught and threw a td in this game. Duper has over 200yards receiving...

Just goes to show how inexact a science the draft is. some of the greatest players in NFL history were overlooked.
