I'm with Dave, atleast for now...

Absolutely. The guy can't win the big games - Oakland in '99, New England last two years, Minnesota in 2002. Fiedler has all the heart, but he doesn't have the talent to be a winner against the best teams. He can beat the 9-7 and 8-8 teams, but he doesn't show up against the best. And you can also blame the lack of a solid offensive line the past year and a half.

great point... Jay is a false winner, he can only beat weak teams...

Everyone is quick to bash DW.
It's taken me about 2 yrs to finally bash him for the no good coach that he is, i wouldnt say that is "quick".

He has nothing to do with the Front Office stuff of the off-season.
He doesn't want to play anything through the media. He wants to remain loyal to his guys. He's brought in some good coaches (like Trestman).
Isnt bring in coaches part of the offseason front office stuff ?? ...and he wants to remain loyal to his guys?? in that case start Fiedler next week...You go/do whats best for your team not whats best for yourself or loyalty to "your" guys.

He has nothing to do with the Ogunleye hold-out and the crap Rosenhaus was causing on the team.
and no one is blaming him for it.

He has never played the blame game with any players on the team.

He hasn't pointed the finger at any player - he takes the heat for everything.
He cant point fingers...because he knows it's not anyone elses fault but his!

His Offensive Star walked away from the team. He has yet to say one bad word about him.
He may not have said something bad publicly, but even if he did, what could he get out of it??

How would Jimmy Johnson have behaved? What kind of tirade would he have thrown?
My answer will be as hypothetical as your question...it wouldnt have gotten this bad if JJ was still here.

Wannestedt has been trying to keep the boat from rockin', even though there have been some big waves hitting our ship.
How so exatly?? If anything I think Wanny has been rocking the ship worse then it really should be...Didn't you hear the Boo's at PPS?? those are major unessecary waves if you ask me...

He has had some obstacles thrown his way - from having to be the heavy on the Marino situation, to cutting Daryl Gardner. He's tried to bring in other options for QB over the years. Notice how Damon Huard isn't starting on any other team...
and if Fiedler was cut, he wouldn't be starting anywhere else either...

I admit that I also get frustrated - especially with the Offense - especially last year.
well as long as Wanny's coach, get use to it....

He's tried to maintain steadiness and a cool head with everything that's been going on.

MAYBE IF THEY WERE SCREAMED OUT ONCE AND AWHILE AND SHOWED A LITTLE PASSION/FIRE WE'D BE ABLE TO PULL OUT THE CLOSE ONES ONCE AND AWHILE....
I guess Dungy should be fired then too.

i post on alot of dolphins boards and as most of you know i've been a wanny hater and basher from day 1. however, i have to say after what i saw saturday that there is hope for this season and i think dave might be coming around. HE BENCHED JAY. DAVE FINALLY BENCHED JAY. and he did it during a game no less. that is a big deal fin fans. that is not wanny's MO. i think dave finally realized his old fashioned approach isnt going to work and is willing to make some adjustments. the bengirls game this week will reflect that and i think we will rock cinncy sunday night.
Hopefully you're right;)

I think this was a turning point for Dave. Hopefully AJ will continue to play the way he did in the 2nd half Saturday so there won't be any controversy. If he sucks it up this week, we'll be back to wondering who will be our QB.

Please go back and review the past 4 seasons. You are wrong. Jay's days are done, but make false statements is not necessary.

Dave might be the most criticized coach in the league the GUY HAS A BETTER RECORD THAN BELICHECK!!!!

Parcells has won multiple superbowls and gotten to numerous championship games. Daves team beating him in one game is meaningless

This has been a tumultous offseason by all accounts. Still, as a HC, Wanny MUST be able to make the best of a rotten situation, and make proactive decisions to help this team win. Needless to say, hes not doing that. Instead, hes showering us with a sorry wave of excuses and lip-service that reaks of being unnaccountable for your actions.

Case in point: Ricky left the team in July. Wanny KNEW we would eventually trade for a replacement RB. Knowing that a late RB addition would create even more lockerroom ruccous and unfamilarity, Wanny should been proactive in finding other ways to help the team gel. For this reason alone, he shoud have selected a starting QB at the BEGINING of camp, enabling new recruits like Booker and Feeley get on the same page, not to mention vets like Chambers and McMike. After all, Feeleys been on the team since March. Bookers been here for a month. Its not like these guys joined the team last week like Gordon.

So I dont buy the whole "our guys havent played enough together" argument. Thats an excuse for losers and apologists. They ONLY reason they havent played more together because Wannys is fixated with the idea of an open QB competition, when the last thing we needed was more uncertainty at key skill positions. Especially when one of the participants has had four years to prove himself, and by all accounts, has failed to impress.

This, my friends, is poor leadership from a head coach - and whether we believe it or not, it trickles down to the coaching staff and players as well. I dont blame Fiedler for not being able to carry this team on his back. Its not his fault; he's simply not talented enough. However, I do hold Wanny accountable for failing to make this team better prepared to win games.

And if we dont win next week vs Cincinatti, my guess is that Wayne gives Wanny the axe.
