And why? Superstition. I think that football is the only thing in the world in which I cling to superstitions.

It's almost assured. When it comes to the Dolphins, whenever I feel confident, it's overconfidence. Whenever I feel nervous, I worry unnecessarily. Well, despite being SuperBowl champions, Pittsburgh doesn't instill fear in me.

The other paradigm: maybe mentioning negates the bad outcome; then again, trying to control fate that way almost never works either.

Im not scared of Pitt either....

Ive never bought into the 'They're the champs untill someone beats them' idea....if a team isnt as good as the last year you can tell, and that seems to be the case with me

Can they beat us? Yes

Do I think we have a great shot at beating them? Yes

Im not worried about pitt I think it will be a good game and it will give us a good idea of where were at.....cant wait till the season starts

yeah and i wonder where they'll put us in the power rankings if we beat the squealers on opening day Lmao:sidelol:

Any team can be beat, that's why they play on Sunday. I just hope our guys are hungrier than Pitt and take it to them.

my hope is they will be preoccupied. We will be chock full of new personnel and I would expect us to be a little jerkey in our execution. One thing tho...we WILL play for sixty minutes and after they have their distracting halftime ceremonies we just might out play and coach them. I really believe that our victory over Denver last year was one of the most important victories we have had in years, and with completely new everything we still put together a good game...maybe we can do the same to P-burg.

if we shut down the running game and force rothilsberger to throw deep we have a great chance of winning

If our secondary can play together yes. If it were last year I wouldn't get to excited about that kind of play calling, I'd actually be scared.

I'm reminded of the Denver game last year. I think that if you give Saban an entire offseason to game plan for the 1st game, then we have a really good shot.

Agreed. Heck, they weren't even the best team through 3/4's of the season.
They seemed to get hot right at playoff time. This wasn't a team that dominated so I don't see why people are all that worried about them.
They are a solid and well coached team, but honestly is their offense really all that good?
I'd take all our skill position players over theirs. I even think with better QB play Chambers compares favorably to Hines Ward.

If the Steelers don't worry you, who does?

I don't see any unbeatable dynasty type teams in the NFL this season. I don't think Saban is "worried" about any team except his own.

We're playing the Superbowl champs on national TV on the road with a new QB (and we don't know who that is yet)...why should anyone be worried?

These aren't Dave Wannstedt's Dolphins anymore. I'm not too worried about the game. They will be ready, and (win or lose) they will be competitive.
