Honestly guys, as I see it, Culpepper is our only true option at this point...but tell me what you think.

The three options out there that I see fit for Miami top three choices would be: Brees, Cutler, and Culpepper.

Brees right now is looking out of the option as Detroit is now a front runner for him. After receiving there extra 11 mil + because of an insurance benefit, they have the leverage they need to go after him. Looks like we're out of the picture there.

Cutler... cmon, realisticaly, how are we going to even get into possition to draft him? It will take a hell of alot and I dont see it a possibility at this point.

That leaves Culpepper to pick up in FA.

Matt Millen was quoted as saying recently he is not interested in pursuing Brees, "I want a back-up, not a starter"

Brees is a garunteed starter here and hasn't met with anyone yet. I don't see where you get Detroit is his frontrunner. We would have to trade a first round pick for Culpepper and he isn't worth that. Not from what Saban has drafted so far. So IMO I would take Whitehurst or Couch over Culpepper.

Naaaaa.....

We'll land Brees. He wants to win.....the writing is on the wall, just read it!

Brees wants to go to a team that has the best chances of winning and going to the Super Bowl. Miami is sooo much closer to that than Detroit. Detroit's only way of seeing the Super Bowl was they just hosted it. :sidelol:

Culpepper will be cut...
I know thats what people are saying the Dolphins think but I just dont see any way they let a franchise qb walk with no compensation at all.

Edit-And like the other poster said the Lions are out of the Brees sweepstakes. Martz is apparently pretty high on Harington.

That was the last I heard about the Culpeper thing. The GM also reportedly told him he wasn't going anywhere. Unless they can trade him it makes no sense to cut him until they get someone else and he losses his job. Besides you can't take away the teams sex boat captain that would ruin team chemistry and Ziggie has a yacht Daunte has to drive this year.

Saban has been said to meet with the agents for Tim Couch. YES THE SAME AGENTS THAT CURRENTLY REPRESENT BREES. What do you think they were talking about? Couch's demands? Please, Saban will sign Couch at 12:01 a.m. est. on March 3rd.

1. Culpepper (Best fit for our offense)
2. Brees (A proven game managing QB)
3. McNair and a Rookie...

I think Cutler is good but has a lot of hype and regardless of our QB condition, he will be there at 16. Culpepper has way too many question marks around him, with the money demands, the fumbles, and the knee surgery.
In my opinion, Drew Brees is the best choice for us and I think we have a very good choice at landing him.

If Culpepper is cut and agrees to much less money I'd take him over Brees, however Culpepper hasn't been cut and SD has already let the deadline to franchise or transition players pass without retaining Brees. Therefore Brees is almost certain to be a FA and most likely our next QB. I'm sure that will change if Culpepper is released before march 3rd, IMO.
