We were dead last in pass protection per attempt last season. We gave up 52 sacks and 95 QB hits and even more "hurries".

From what I've read we will be looking for a decent veteran at RG to be released during training camp (and there is a very small chance that we could bring back V Carey).

Better pass protection (and better run blocking) helps in a lot of ways.

Our QBs can throw longer completions(C Gates will see more and deeper routes), our QBs will be able to look at the 3rd to 4th option more often and lose less yardage due to sacks This is just a few pluses besides keeping our QBs off of the IR list.

Considering how poor our OL was, it makes Matt Moore's QB rating and the amount of games he won even more surprising.

I made my case for drafting to improve our OL before the 2nd round and I still wish we had looked for a good guard but all our picks were taken up for needs. (can most of us agree that this was a "needs" driven draft for us?

It is a easy target but the one area that has to improve is our OL. As it goes, so does the rest of our team.

We will find one, if we dont have one in our team....................

The only way we get anywhere near 12 wins is if the offensive line plays much better than last year, the back end of the secondary improves tremendously from last season, we get CONSISTENTLY good QB play, and we see 2 or more offensive skill position players have miraculous breakout seasons. Kind of a stretch, no?

I think Brandon Marshall lost us more games than Marc Colombo did, but we should be much improved with decent protection on the right side of the OL. I'm still sticking with a predictiopn of 7-8 wins though.

If Long is 100% and in a contract year, Pouncey has a year under his belt (not to mention a full training camp as well), Martin comes in and plays at least an average RT level (compared to Columbo's piss poor play) and if we can get somewhat some production out of the guard spots then I thik we are in great shape, way better then last year thats for sure.

If Martin really is as good as advertised, Long and Pouncey play to their normal potential then we'd have a top 5 O-line in the NFL.

You cannot possibly seriously believe that Brandon Marshall was not a superior football player at his position than Marc Colombo was last season. I know that Marshall dropped a few TDs that may or may not have made the difference in a few games early on (Cleveland, Houston) but for as underwhelming as the first half of his season was, the second half was freakish. Us trading him away for what we got in return will go down as one of the worst trades of our generation. Mark my words.

How exactly are we to gauge if this was one of the worste trades ever? just curious...

well, just keep thinking up tempo and hurry up O with five spread then after a couple of those sets, moving into a one back set, then two/three tight ends, with alot of two-three step drops and T-hill nailing the receiver in the hole with quick strikes. The offense is going to humm at times and then there will be mistakes that hold us back until T-hill gets complete timing with receivers down.

The success to me is going to be up to the defense. I think we will put up about 21-25 points per game but the defense cannot let up against good teams.

watching the New England game last night, we pressured Wes Welker lot in first half but then it was like we wanted to lose the game on purpose when we stood 10 yards back all of a sudden. why? why stop what was working? Probly to get Tannehill at 8!

i dont know about that, philbin's GB teams didnt have dominant olines. And as bad as columbo was last year we still ended the season 6-3 with him. it's all about the QB

I thought we were looking at Jake Scott from titans, Has he signed anywhere yet he would fit nice at rg

I didnt say anything about who was a better player relative to thier position.

I made a satatement about who directly, single handedly lost us more games - and the answer was Marshall. I counted 3 dropped TD passes that were game winners.

a quicker decision by the Qb by the new offense will make the O-line look better than it was last year. defensive players will have about 4 seconds to get to the QB on most plays.. even colombo ok scratch that. even Incognito will look good if the Qb makes good decisions.

12 wins ... piece of cake ... only trouble, it will take us about 2 years!!

Tannehill plus better guards plus better safeties plus better WRs equals playoffs! Whos coming with us? Lets Do it!
